Don't be such a worry wort! I'm pumped!

Canada vs. Russia! What could be better?

I sure hope we do......and I'm not a worry wort. Just watch what you say, unless you enjoy humble pie *winks*

Canada vs. USA would be better.......nothing better than kicking some American ass in hockey *nods*

We already put the Americans out! Me humble? Surely you jest!

You watching the game? Or are you stuck at work? I might try and sneak out.

I think that's an anachronistic outlook. The 2004 Juniors were just as team oriented as any edition but had awesome offensive skill and talent. Crosby was on the second line for crissakes.

Obvioulsy there is exception to every rule, but our programs all emphasis team concepts and 'systems' first, even at the atom level.

Our pride is found in heart and tenacity, the protypical Canadian player is a power forward (Brendan Shanahan) or stud Defenceman (Pronger or Phaneuf)... Gretzky's or Orrs or Crosbies don't come around all that often.

...what the hell was my point again?

"Joneses"? Dude, you're about as hip as a leisure suit.

Of course, I actually used the word "hip" in a sentence, myself . . . so what does that say?

No clue. Canada produces as much offensive skill as anyone.

Having a team concept or a system does not mean the trap. You can have an open, free wheeling system that relies on the offensive talent on your team being creative and playing well as a team. Look at the gold medal from 2002.

To me, the prototypical Canadian player is more Joe Sakic than Brendan Shanahan.

The astute observer would see that this thread orginated over a year ago, "jonesin'" at the time was the "it" word. It was sweet at the time.

I'm really not sure what point you are coming from?

Your original arguement was how Canada lacked offensive skill, was it not?

The US Women's Olympic hockey team lost an exhibition game to the boys' team from Warroad, MN.

As good as the women's hockey teams may be, they will almost always lose to a junior men's team. It is not that the women's teams aren't well trained or playing hard, they are just incapable to physically match the men
