You saying flat doesn't seem right.

hahaha ;-P

I'm wondering if this is actually a great set up.. and if the price isn't too steep. Just a lil under $1,800 with financing and 4 years of ip service.

Dude this is the chick who was bragging for months (okay I still am lol) that she installed her CDR+W on her own. :D

I might be good, but just not in this area. ;-)

Well it has to be a heck of a lot better than the piece of crud I'm on now.

I can rarely use my messengers anymore, half the time I can't get into my email addy's.. I get constant ie errors and I end up having to cold boot the sumbitch.

Not close by a country mile.. but you're a sweetheart for even suggesting it.

Yep Kitty, das da kine! I only got one suggestion tho, instead of the combo DVD ROM/ CDR/W , get them separate, that way you can burn disc to disc. Or even better, a DVD Burner! OK, one more thing, a 15" monitor is pretty small, You'll find out. Should go with a least a 17". Course it's all what you can afford!!

Shop around.. you can get better systems for a lot less money.

Gateways suck. Atleast that is what everyone I know that owns one says.

Good advice SuprSalor.. the only thing I had thought about was that I didn't really need a new CDR+W, since I have one that is around a year old.

The 15" monitor is kinda small.. but I think that's what I have now, so I'm use to it. lol

Hmm do they tend to break down a good bit I wonder or are they just expensive as hell to fix when something goes wrong.

I'm ok kitty . The last few days have been beautiful here. Great weather really raises the spirits!

Could just install that CD burner in your new one, seein's how you know how to do that now.

BTW, I had a Gateway laptop that only lasted 1 month before it crapped out on me and had to have replaced. Got a Dell now And my bro-in laws didn't last long either. Like FG says, Gateways suck. And I'd be suprised if Gateway last much longer, They're closing a lot of their stores now. Shop around, you can find good deals on the net I'm sure. :)

It's been splendid here Crappie!! Tho I heard in the doctor office today that they are calling for snow on Sunday. Drat!

K ya'll have convinced me.. no Gateway for me. lol
I have an IBM now and I haven't been very impressed.. to say the least. :D I'd like to be able to get a new one since I'll be going to college in the fall and I can give this one to my 10 year old son... after I wipe the h/d of anything incriminating. ;-)

So Dell seems to be one of the best?
