I have what i thought were two small dead spots in my vision. They are a little larger. The brain has been doing a reasonable job of compensation, but I have been overtaxing it, badly. Been misreading. If anyone has got a comment from me referring to a word that isn't there. That is why, my apology.
An apology to the poetguy, some of the text I did not see, I just saw an unfortunate connotation, I did not see at first the favorable part.
The three day headache is gone, the flashes of light are gone from overtaxing the video processing equipment.
Two people have asked me specifically to look at there work. I can do that, the keyboard is quite clear again. I should have backed off two weeks ago, when the letters started to get fuzzy.
But look on the bright side, you have had a half blind guy chewing your asses out, for having your eyes half closed, probably (with the exception of VR) leaving more comments, than the next two people.
C'est la vie. I do love the irony of things, but it is back to the green darkness for me.

you, sir, have nothing to apologise for and i trust anyone whose work you've misread or misinterpreted due to your sight issues will agree with me that at least you took the time and effort to read and comment. you've been a much-needed shot in the arm of energy for this forum, together with Poet Guy - that's not to dismiss the sterling efforts by vrose, UYS, and everyone else commenting on the new poetry and making posts here.

i truly hope you allow your vision some much-needed R&R and will find your way back here when you are able. it's been an education :rose:

Godspeed and I really hope you improve to a point where you can return again. I've enjoyed talking with you about poetry more than you know. Your feedback is valuable and you will be missed.

I could use a poster size picture of you to ease the transition , it's the text that bothers me.... so if you sign it with love, just right big, but not too big that it covers anything I might want to look at.:rose::rose::rose:
PS> I left two comments, but with out much elaboration. I think everyone should read tess's new poem, it's about me, in my dreams...

I am sorry to learn this. I hope everything works out as well as possible.

I have a similar problem, but other than bumping into things when I bend over, it has never caused any trouble. One day in 1993, I woke up realized something was wrong, but could not put my finger on it until I tried to take a photograph with my camera. The lower half of my right eye was blind.

The brain does not like blind spots. It fills in the missing information with color from the surrounding area and most of the time, this is sufficient. There is a jagged crescent in my right eye, where the optic nerves are dead. In bright light, I hardly notice. In dim light, it is a problem.

There never was an explanation. It simply is. I have no idea why it affected half an eye or why only one eye.

If there is any bright side to the experience, that was also the day my blood pressure was measured at 260/180. I was promptly put in cardiac ICU. After a week of tests, no connection was found. There was no explanation for the blood pressure. It just was.

twelveoone, I consider myself fortunate. I hope you are as fortunate. Listen to your Doctors and follow their instruction. If the problem can't be reversed, do what ever is needed to stop the decline or slow its speed.

Listening to the body can be scary, that I know... but listening is good.

Be well...

Having worn glasses since I was 3 years old (and now in varifocals) I know how precious your sight is, so please do whatever you need to preserve it. You will be missed ..... yes even by me :) Good Luck :rose:

Damn 1201, I've just got back and you're off! Scared of the competition? ;)

Take care and look after yourself. Hopefully we'll see you back in the not too distant future.

I will miss you 1201 and will hope things somehow turn around so you can return. You are truly one of the great ones here...

I shall miss our jousts and your invariably acute comments. Take care of yourself and come back soon. Much love. :rose:

I am feeling ya. I have two blind spots myself. There is not explaination for mine. They developed over a period of two months about two years ago (I actually think it was the first shots from the diabetes). I spent nearly a year being investigated and am no wiser as to what they are. I can understand about the need to leave. I had to break from Lit when they diabetes hit because my bipolar became unstable and writing triggers mania badly for me. You will be missed; come back when you are better.

Best wishes for better vision, ol' bean.

Very late double post?

Oh well, bears repeating.

Take it easy, but take it right.
I'm quite fortunate in that my vision is still mostly quite good.
I now wear glasses when I drive, and note the improved resolution in distand vision, still able to see most detail close up.

I can still see well enough to kick your ass, just as long as you stay in the light.

I'm fine, I've just been pushing it too hard. I quit now when the keys get fuzzy, the only downside is I can see myself more clearly when I shave.

But, not as great as jthserra, but now i have an excuse. BTW did i ever mention i always considered him the BEST of NP reviewers.

bronzeage, you have it much worse, my was broken blood vessels, and the blood needed to be reabsorbed, I may be stunk with the dead spots, no big deal, it is just that they were bigger than I thought. BTW the blackberry poem kicked ass.

Thanks fridayam, for the large print get well, I'm still smiling:D

I'll be popping in to do my part in new poems, just far less for awhile.

You've done a lot of great things here with your energy; got me thinking about how, what, and why more than once.

Here's hoping the vision gets better soon.

you trust a blind guy with darts?

I really do have to meet you, 'cuse me hon, I really did think you were a braille message board.:rose::rose::rose:

you should feel me on a cold day! :D

oops, read me... i meant read me.
oh wth - the first works just as well.

There is never any need to apologize to Poet Guy, twelveoone. Poet Guy empathizes with your condition, as he suffers from vision issues himself, and hopes for your recovery and return to participation in the Poetry Feedback & Discussion forum.

Namaste.

Sweet 1201!!! I hope you come back soon! I can't believe I missed your return! I hope things clear up with your vision, be well, my friend and take care!

Did I overdo the giant letters? I hope you remember my humor. I cannot help but wonder where your blind spots are and how much mischief I can pull off inside of them. I think I might go write a poem. About your blind spots. And a mission statement.
