Ever have Litorotica change your story category incorrectly?

The last two stories I submitted were placed by the editors under different catogories than I had submitted. (Ex: first was submitted under Incest but was transferred to Narratives and Second one was submitted as Non-Consent but was changed to Incest.) The problem is this... I keep getting angry feedback from readers about my stories being in the wrong category and thus getting me very low scores. I'm very angry about being moved categories without my intent (when the feedback PROVES my intentions were correct) and have no idea who to complain to. Does anyone know an address I can go to? Has anyone else out there experienced this problem? If so, I could sure use some advice. Thanks. - ClaimDenied

You can always send Laurel a pm asking her about the change and request they be resubmitted to the category you originally chose.

Go to your story and click, 'Report A Problem With This Story', when prompted for details, ask for the story to be moved back to the category you originally submitted it to, remember to state what that was, and why you are asking. It always worked for me in the past.

My "Lesbian Teen's Mom-Lust" was submitted to Lesbian Sex but posted on Incest. Surprise! I can't really quibble - the title is not misleading. I just knew the lezlovers would like the story, which is purely girl-girl sex, but was not sure about the Incest readers. They seem to be OK with it so far. I'm not sure how to vote here, though. The story just went up Sunday, so I can't say yet "they ultimately were right."

Typically the potentially more offensive kink "trumps". Incest is certainly potentially more offensive than Lesbian - there are Lesbian lovers who don't care for incest, but a lot of incest readers will be ok with Lesbianism.

There are other categories this applies to, Non-consent being a big one. But many stories are potentially multi-category.

It just happened to me. I submit my story to "Erotic Coupling" and I found it in "BDSM".

Well, the fact is that the story is more about a couple who have some interests in BDSM but, except the fact that he ask her not to move, there is nothing about BDSM in it!

I sent a report as suggested in an other answer here. Hope it works because I am sure the BDSM readers won't really like the story and ask themself where is the BDSM part of it and it will affect the voting.

All this just means that they got it wrong when they set Lit up; the categorization ougth to be like Asstr (you know MF, inc, etc) on each story. Now they have 100k stories they can't fix it.

ASSTR's system is organized chaos at best. It's useful if you want to find MFF stories, but it largely dependant on the author submitting the proper tags. I could chalk it up to personal preference, but I definitely prefer Lit.
