I'm a very busy guy today - so the crew got me lunch. I can eat anything so I simply said "get me what you're having."

So this Falaful (spelling here, I have no clue?) thing - it's like a salad with a bean curd dressing and three little sausage-looking patties are dropped on the side - but it's not sausage, not spicy and probably grain of some sort. Pita on the side.

Where is it from? The mid-East somewhere I'm sure but where?

What is it? What am I eating now?

I thought a falaful (I don't know how to spell it either) was just like a shawarma. My guess would be that all that stuff is supposed to be inside the pita.

Either way, I know I wouldn't like it.

Spelled Falafal. They come with a variety of ingredients/fillings so your guess is as good as mine Sparky.

The "sausage like things" are probably the fried chick peas.

I would much prefer a Donair/Gyro gimme real mystery meat protein any day

It's so bland.....

all these bean things are - unless they really spike them up like some Humis makers do. These chick pea patties are like - nothin - corn flakes have more taste.

At least it doesn't taste bad. Just, no taste.

Actually falafal and esplinade are two of my favorite words.

Sparky, you are such a goy!!

FALAFEL is made from dried chickpeas and sesonings and dep fried. It is a wonderful mid-eastern dish.

The Detroit area has the largest arabic population outside of the Mid-east. There are lots of restaraunts here that serve falafel and all the other mideastern treats. I'm sure that NYC has its share, too.
