I'm confused

Yes, move them to Canada, we don't have any silly laws restricting our freedom to see porn! Land of the free indeed! ;) "Little eye's" may not be the main purpose of the new law, but I'm pretty sure it's in the thinking behind it. As well as the fact that these christian bible thumpers don't think that anyone should be able to have sex for pleasure and when you do have sex, missonary only! *yawn* How boring would that be??? Oh well, it just makes me extra happy to be living in the real land of the free! (no offense to those living in the states and any christian's on this site, I'm only talking about the fanatics that are behind Bush) :catroar:

Canada has some restrictive laws - some of them not so enforced but they are there as Snowy mentioned. One particular one that sticks in my mind is that you cannot make s/m movies in Canada in any form (I think.)

I'm a republican-leaning libertarian.

So there's no doubt, this is evil. Government is stepping into things they have no fucking business in.

Democrat leaning libertarian living in a Republican household. Yikes!

This needed another bump.

just wondering how long it is going to take them to go through all those pic threads.

I have already had some of my photos removed.

I think a great deal of the removals will be done on a "report" basis...

strangely, the photos that I had removed, were ones that did not involved genitals, or even masturbation.. they were me sucking on a glass dildo. Apparently, they must have been too explicit.

No warning, no explanation. They were just missing.

Other photos of mine, which were more explicit, were left.

I think someone with a grudge complained. *shrug*

It is sad, and I think in the long term will be a huge loss to Lit as a site...hopefully laws can and will be changed, but we better not hold our breath as politics seem to move so slow when it is to make changes the people want. And we have democracy?!!

Of mine? I already commented in my index of pics "REMOVED DUE TO CENSORSHIP".

For yours, I doubt they've been removed. You don't have people who'd complain about yours.

Hey Catalina-

Could I just request that my pic thread be removed? It would be a loss, even though I haven't posted to it in over a year. Frankly I'd rather have it deleted than have to worry about it.

Actually, what you can do, is in your USER CP, there's a button at the bottom left, that says "attachments". You can actually delete every photo you've put up anywhere on the site, by clicking "check all" and then delete.

No searching for photos.

But I wish you wouldn't take them down.. bending this easily is just going to encourage them.

I don't want to take them down, but I also don't want to cause Lit any problems. And I'll be damned before I let my name and address appear in some government kinkyfreak file.

But I think you are right on an earlier point. There are sooooooooo many pics to sort through that I bet they will have to be reported by someone first.

There's got to be something we can do, I know there is. a little voice in the back of my head ( embodied by my highschool gov't. teacher) is saying something about writing to someone and petitioning, but damned if I can remember who to write to.....I think it's something like district representative or something. Damnit, I got hit in the head with the rubber chicken too much for sleeping in class so I can't remember (both from the sleeping and being hit with the chicken....don't ask my teacher was weird sometimes)But that's supposed to be one of the beauties of living in america is the ability to fight bad laws. Anyone remember what to do. Damn there should be an emergency manual on what to do..just like a CPR pamphlet. Uhm....Government freaks out there.... help me out a little please.

.

I think my name is already there - not for anything related to Erotic literature, but just in general ... OK... hard core RP gamer, including one the government raided because it thought that a game that had "simulated" computer hacking (*no code or anything just rules that said you succeed or fail*).. That and hanging out occasionally with libertairans, anarchists and other assorted oddities...

Well according to the guidelines on pictures:

This is also listed as part of the guidelines on Lit according to the US ruling, just incase anyone needs to know.

- All persons in all adult-themed photographs must be over 18 years of age.

- Image must not contain URL or other advertisement.

- You must have a legal right from the copyright owner to post any images - i.e. photographs/drawings that you yourself created and/or have a license or other permission to post.

I hope the problem is solved soon otherwise until many sites move offshore, the internet porn choice is going to be severly depleted.

I like Lit but I hate how these new rules are in place, you got to wonder why the US wants to regulate such things when no other nation is trying to do so, makes me glad to be Canadian.

This one is good. You're actually not even supposed to use other peoples pictures in your avs unless you have permission or they're copyright free. I'm glad some photographers are cracking down on this now. People are getting sued, and it's a good thing :)
