Den!! Long time, no see. I think Beco has me on iggie. LOL

Still in the glory of the desert?

Hiya Veebs--long time no see is an understatement! Yep, still here; in fact, I just changed residences this past weekend. Went to the Renaissance Festival last Sunday and of course had a good time.

Are you still in this parched land yourself?

(so good to see you :rose: )

Fit as a fiddle and ready for love. ;) You?

You realize if you're caught over here, you lose your GB membership card, don't you?

Just giving you a hard time, of course...
I transcend both worlds!

i was in Manhattan Beach for a few days. I found this great hotel el cheapo but in the lilttle town and a view of the ocean. I love the fact that its only 5 minutes from LAX

Yes, when you turn out of LAX, straight south is Manhattan Beach. Not too bad surfing. The peeps are relatively nice there. You are correct though. Flying in and staying in Manhattan is less costly. Did you check out Huntington? Main St.? I think I told you of the shops there. And for tourism, there is always Dukes... LOL

bobsgirl, I just spewed my diet pepsi... That was too funny.

I have driven past it once, never made it down there. Maybe next time!

No, I am back on the coast now. The ocean has been calling me *well and so has my family*.

I have to check to see when the festival is here now. Was the Birds of Prey exhibition on this year? I so loved that.

Pardon, Beco, for the momentary hijack.

Which coast did you move back to-east or west? I thought you had family on the east coast. When did you move back?

We missed the Birds of Prey this year (we caught them two years ago and it was beautiful to watch them in flight). We didn't miss our annual viewing of the candle blowing demo . We usually wear costumes, but because of my move and everything we chose to just go casual wear this year.

Thanks for letting us catch up here Beco.

Well, the GB has somewhat of a >ahem< reputation on a few of the other boards. You gotta know how to swim fast if you want to play with the GB'ers.

Good god Yes, you know how to scare a person when you make an appearance out of nowhere. I have not seen you in months! How are you? I've heard through the grapevine that your move has been good for you & I'm so glad to hear that. *hugs*

East coast.

Did you check out the glass blowing? If I remember right, they had that. The tomato toss?

Alright, all nostalgic right now.

Bobsgirl, yes I take the GB with a grain of salt. I put up with enough bullshit in everyday life that I tend to not want to deal with it on my time off. *smile*

Beco, now that is a place that I cannot wait to visit.

kind of sorta a vacation...I was there for almost 6 months. It's a wonderful place to visit but I found out there is really no place like home. You really appreciate what you have here once your gone. But I do recommend it for vacation, it has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth......but EXPENSIVE!!!

Very good. Some of the best world class surfers are from Oz. I have checked out the coast and have found that the south western part is the best. Not only for surfing, but diving.

I hope to travel there in the next year. It's wait and see right now.

Hey Veebs....back from OZ land. I'd be more than happy to tell ya what I know about it (which isn't much btw...lol) I can tell you about Adelaide but most folks don't want to go there, not a heck of alot to do there, BUT....excellent surfing there...BUT alot of shark sightings lately to....so it's six of one half a dozen of another....but the bigest suggestion....bring LOTS of money, everything is VERY expensive.

Sorry about that-I meant the glass blowing (hell, I can watch myself blow out candles-geez I've been a dumb ass lately). The tomato toss is fun when there's a good smart ass tossing out some original lines. There were some fun shows to see although we didn't see Ded Bob this time. Of course lots of good food & beer. It was perfect weather too.

BTW-I feel the same way you do about the GB. I hear people arguing all day and I don't need any of it during my free time.

Aren't there some vineyards near Adelaide?
