Well here it is eight days post surgery and I am back at the computer part time. I can't sit here long my ass won't let me. They cut through a lot of muscle to get to your hip. I guess mine was even worse than usual due to muscle tighnetss. My leg hurts constantlay from the top of my ass to my knee. Doc says they really had to tourque it to get it to fit back together. That is why my knee hurts so much

I am on a lot of medication. At best it dulls the pain. At worst it does nothing. Mornings are worst, I don't take a dose during the night. Now I have two new hips. I don't know what I will work on next, maybe my neck.

The medication is really messing with my typing and spelling so this isn't going to be long. And I won't be on everyday. My concentration is really messed up.

My Mom is here taking care of me. My wife has been great. The kids stay out of the way. Smart move. I am a grouchy patient. I really kept the nurses at the hospital pissed off. I didn't know they could set an alarm on a bed. Everytime I would try to move or get up (yeah I know) they would all come running. I am still catching hell for trying to do to much at home. Hell I have only fallen twice, and it only hurt once.

My balance is shot to hell. You would be surprised at how much feedback you hip bones give with regards to balance. It is like trying to learn to stand all over again.

I get my staples out the 20th, then I can take a shower. Till then sponge baths, whoo hoo. Something about having your wife washing you is a real turn on. But it is wasted rigth now. One of the pills I take is a muscle relaxer

Well I don't have a lot to say right now. Just wanted everyone to know that I survived. I am about 45% back. I will be online occasionaly. Getting stronger everyday. If I don't get right back to you I hope you understand. Before long I should start feeling great.

Well let me go scan the board, and then go lay down.

Love you all.

So glad you're back, even if it's only part time. Take it easy dammit! Think of it as a vacation in which you get waited on by handmaidens. ;)

Your description did nothing to encourage me about my impending knee replacement, btw. Gods, but they're gonna need to give me LOTS of drugs!

Ouch, just reading your posts hurts.

Does she want to take turns giving you sponge baths? I know a few ladies here who would love to help her, just to give her a break you know. whistling.... innoccently....

Truthfully, you be a good patient or we shall teach your wife all sorts of tricks to keep you chained to the bed. Naughty man. You behave!

I have been told that knee surgery is a lot more painful than hip surgery. I am not saying that to scare you off.

I had my left hip done this last June. It made me feel so much better that I had the righ one done last week.

A few weeks of bad pain is worth it to get rid of a constant pain. I will write you more when I get my head on straighter.

They didn't put me to sleep for this one, had a spinal done. I really liked that better. Only botherd me when they sawed off the top of my bone and I felt the vibrations is my teeth. But I was too fucked up to care.

Gotta run, can't sit here anymore.

It will be worth it, believe me.

He's baaaaaaaccccckkkkkk! lol

sch00lteacher,

Yes, I can see that you are the typical male patient. lol Please make sure you at least try to do what the doctors tell you. It is for your own good, you know.

Oh my....I really don't like the sound of that at all. Whenever I hear an electric saw, I'm going to think of you. Wait....I hope it wasn't a regular saw....no, they wouldn't dare do that as it would make your bone jagged. OH NO!

I'm so very glad to see you back, sch00lteacher, as I was wondering how you were doing. Please take care of yourself.:)

Hey Teach

Hey fellow teacher,

Welcome back.

Enjoy the time off and follow the doctor's orders. It's for your own good, you know.
