Not stories, but I had a similar experience in the poetry section this year.

My illustrated poem "I tremble..." had a very good rating at the end of the first month, so much so that it was picked in May for the monthly nominations. But, being the first of the illustrated Poetry list, it received a lot of views during the year (it's currently the 14th most read poem), and a lot of votes. Its rating has never stopped falling, after that first month.

Really? That's terrible!

I haven't noticed anything like that, but I don't have much to compare to. I only have seven total on here, but the illustrated ones are rated much higher than the others. Methinks my words don't stand as well on their own.

have you inquired about the ILLUSTRATION portion of the story index page? I did, but had not herad back on that either. been years since last update. Even if that was opperational ..which i would like, I would also like a forum..and or sticky Thread.

If it happens..let me know..i do not surf about much...even within LIT.

I've inquired about that many times, tried submitting my own artwork, blah, blah, blah...

I've never really gotten persistant about it, though. Like I said, maybe I'll just get booted.

16 people is HARDLY a tidal wave....and of the ones I listed...I have no idea HOW interested they might be.

I think that
KillerMuffin or
Lauren Hynde might carry some influence...but I do not KNOW them..nor do I plan on enlisting them. My GUESS is that their endorsement MIGHT give credibilty.

Killermuffin hasn't been active since last October. I'm fairly sure she was a myth to begin with.

16 people is a start, and it's 15 people more than most good things have ever started with.

Art is like the literature it associates with; it builds an interest. Sometimes slowly, sometimes quickly. But it does build an interest.

as i said...you don't need to convince ME.

The fact that there WAS (and still is residue) an ILLUSTRATION place and is NOT currently indicates that Manu and Laurel Probably agree. I suspect as much as anything there is the issue of Capacity...images being much more memory intensive than text.
