For those of you who aren't already aware I've been an artist a lot longer than I've been a writer. My introduction to writing was actually comics so that should give you a fair idea of how much the two are interwoven in my head.

The illustration category is the only one where images are allowed at all.

The fanfiction category is supposed to be the only category that fanfiction is allowed to go.

So my question is, what category would I post illustrated fanfiction into?

Illustrated. I believe Illustrated is a trump category, so if it has illustrations it automatically goes into the Illustrated category.

And it'll sit there for ages waiting to be published. A couple of weeks or longer is not uncommon.

Yep, Illustrated is a "clump together" category, my guess because of the added server space requirements needed for larger file sizes. Might even be a separate server, don't know. But from reports over the years, processing is best described as "occasional and sporadic". In other words, don't hold your breath.

BTW - there is an illustrators forum. They'd love to have a new visitor.
I've made a few posts over there. Im still dipping my toes in the water in terms of NSFW art. An odd byproduct of having to keep a professional portfolio catered to childrens media. (,,◕ u ◕,,)
