We do have a six week christmas break between years.... but other than that four terms with two weeks off between each.

Hmm, sounds like a year-round school system. Some fools here in the states are trying to get that to be the norm, and sadly enough, some school districts are using it. What I find to be rather stupid about the year-round system is that student are going to school during the summer, and here in Arizona, especially in the southern areas, that's just plain suicide to be outside during the day.

The norm here is for a two semester year, a fall semester and a spring semester. There's a break for Christmas and the length of that break depends on the school; the shortest Christmas break is two weeks, while some others (like myself) have a whole month off. And then there is summer break, which is about three months long. And of course, there are short little breaks thrown in during the school year, mostly three-day weekends and whatnot.

I'll be happy too when I'm done with school. But then I'll have to get a job, and lo and behold, I'll miss school again. Or at least, the three-month summer break.

Oh, and in regards to you concerning yourself with school again: wait until you have kids. This is only a reprieve for you.

Yep, it is a different world outside of school. I kinda like it. No deadlines, no papers to write, no places to be at certain times of the day. Yep, I could live with that for a while.
