I'm good, just catching up with some stuff and mellowing out a bit. Just chilling.

Good, good :D

I'm just waking up here, myself. It's quite lovely, and rainy right now--very relaxing :)

Greetings and good morning to you E.
*kisses hand*

Wolfie, considering that I've been on Lit since 04, and lurking before that, -I- have only made one thread...Dragons and Magic II

You have done well, trust me.

I do try, E. *smiles* :rose:

I am doing well, even though I must return to work tomorrow...

How are you this fine day?

Hee hee :rose:

Good--I'm glad to here it! Sorry about the work thing, though ... Hopefully you'll have some free-time soon :)

I'm pretty good--just waking up here :p Have to go forage for some breakfast in a bit here, and do some origami. I have gifts to send to my niece and nephew and I usually make boxes to send stuff in :)

Ugh, work sucks. Officially and so does the Wolfy say it is!

LOL

Angelus says hi to you E. He gives you a hug and says good morning. He won't be around for a little while though seeing as he's not in a good mood. Especially after what happened earlier. So yeah, but he's still around and if you've got something to say to him, just call out. I'm sure I can get the message to him :D

Thanks for that Mantra. You know E, he really is a smoothie. He's been complimenting me for the better half of 2 hours now LOL :nana:

*shrugs*

Truth makes flattery easy.

I just don't give you roses and stuff :p

*eats nana for good measure*

I'll be back in a few moments. I've just got to go AFK for a little bit.

Also, E, could you please edit your last post RE what I said earlier in the OOC? I think its on the page before this one. Thanks :D

That's correct :) "A Dance of Shadows" was e-pubbed by Loose ID last month.

How does one get published? Is there a difference between published and e-published (other than the obvious)

I ask since I do have the wish to try my hand at being an author once my current job ends.

I'mmmm... baaaackkkk!!!

LOL

Mantra, you never did tell me what IMHO means. Also, of course you're loved *squiggles*

I love all my posters!!

Ahh whoops, sorry about the misunderstanding E, but when I said that "the nightstalker only got her because of her wounds" bit I meant that the nightstalker leaves very specific marks on a body when they attack. The shape of their claws is distinctive.

So the matron is saying that she didn't know where the girl was wounded, but that she knew, by the shape of the wounds, that it was a nightstalker.

Sorry about that, could you edit?

I know, it was my crappy writing

Ah ... I get it now! It was my misunderstanding--your writing was fine :D

I will edit accordingly WS--Thanks!

Oops...

sorry bout that...

IMHO= In My Humble Opinion...

Ahhh... now I get it. Thanks

And no worries E, it didn't really affect the post overmuch. I'm glad to say that you've returned in fine form too :D

Now, if only some of my other posters would come back... *sigh*

Well, it's kind of a long process, and I did have to do a bit of research. You'll want to find a publisher that publishes what you write. There's cover letters, synopisises to send, and all that good stuff. You'll want to pay very close attention to the publisher's guidelines for submissions. In my opinion, this is the most important thing to landing a contract--a well written cover, synopsis, and partial (usually the first 3-5 chapters), is how you get your foot in the door. Though I do recomend that you finish your MS completely before you start the publishing process.

There's really no difference between regular publishing and e-pubbed. Both can be royalty-paying. The nice thing about e-pub is that usually you can find small publishers that are more willing to work with you, esp. if you're new to the publishing world. Think of e-pub as the minors to paper publishing :D Though there are quite a few successful e-authors that do pretty well.

I recommend looking at EPIC's site. They set up guidelines for contracts, what to look for in them, red-flags, ect. I'll see if I can dig up a link for ya :)

Considering that all my literary experience is on half a dozen web sites similar to this one, yes I'm a newbie when it comes to the publishing world :)
