Ignore list

Hi everbody.

I just put some peoples in my ignore list, I am sure you know who one is but I ain't sayin no names.

That isn't what this thread is about. Its about the changing AH, which I love and have left occasionally, but always come back, and try to adapt, improvise, and overcome to stay here.

I have never used ignore, I noticed Colly Thomas is still at the top of my buddy list and will stay there in tribute of a true buddy/friend.

I always had a rule that I would never put anyone on ignore, but times they are a changing, and I don't want to leave, so I must.

Anyways, somebody tell me if the fuckers I am ignoring start sayin some shit about me.

Lisa, I made it nearly six years here w/o using the Ignore List. But a week or two ago, I too lost my Ignored Cherry, so to speak. There's only one name on my list and, knowing me, odds are it will be lonely for a long time.

But to answer your request, if anyone speaks evil of you, I'm come tattling to you, honest.

I guess I know who you are talking about as well, I read that post of yours where you told them you were going to do it.

I would ask you to reconsider on at least one.... I know the other seems to just insult and lash out for not desernible purpose, but the other (I hope all this "code" is not confusing) just seems to be overly passionate in what are frequently thoughtful and articulate, if mostly wrong headed, posts.

And your voice in response will be missed.

But then, maybe I have not been here long enough and he richly deserves to sail on alone.

I do understand the reluctance to use the ignore list, freedom of speech and all that. It seems that to support that we have to listen as well.

I came to the conclusion that's not true. I'm under no obligation to listen to drivel. Life's too short to waste it listening to people even more mentally ill than I am, to lose my time listening to people whose mindset suits them to working for the KGB.

My ignore list is very short. But I'm glad it's there.

I put myself on ignore three months or so and forgot about it. Just found out today when my big fan mail letter to myself didn't get through.

Now I'll have to send myself such a flame letter for being such an asshole that I'll probably put myself on ignore again.

I go in cycles.

I take Lit breaks and then I come back, and everything's funny and amusing and an experiment in human nature. I'm fascinated and involved.

Then the repetition of ugly gets to me, I'm less amused, it's less funny, I lose my interest in tinkering and learning and I feel more antagonized.

I do know that once I start putting people on ignore, it's the beginning of the end. I become even more irritated by the idea that I choose not to see certain things, and on that basis I stop logging on.

Right now my ignore list consists of zero people.

When I start putting people on ignore, I know it's shorthand for "time to take a break."

I hope you find a good equilibrium where you are getting what you want. Mine's an all or nothing proposition. When I lose my interest, compassion or my sense of humor it's time to go until it's fun again.

Right now I'm just in a state of not entering certain threads or rising to certain forms of bait that are often fun and interesting, but I'm burned out on because I've learned all I can from them for now.
