whatever happened to the ignore feature? I am so sick of annoying and nasty people, how do i block them.

it should still be there in your user control panel. here's what you should do:

1. highlight the user's name.
2. go to your user control panel.
3. along the column down the left side of the screen is a section labeled miscellaneous. click on the second entry there, buddy/ignore lists.
4. paste the user's name in the ignore list & click on update ignore list.

You can also:
1) Click on the person's name next to one of their posts.
2) A dropdown menu will appear. Select 'Add SoandSo to your Ignore List' (or something like that)
3) It'll take to you a page where you confirm your choice, click the Ignore link there, and go about your business (if you click the back button, you'll have to refresh the page to get the Ignoree off of it, of course)

OR:
1) If you see one of their threads on a main forum page or similar, you can click their name
2) Doing so will take you to their profile where you click the ignore link
3) Do the confirmation thingy and carry on!

Which skin are you using? One of the ones in the DO NOT USE sections could be the problem.

If not, maybe it's a browser issue? I'm not sure what technology that popup uses, but perhaps you could disable any popup blockers for Lit and make sure Java and such are allowed for this site.

You may be having mouse problems if you click once on the username and get the user profile instead of the drop down menu -- an inadvertant double-click on the username.

There is a link on the User profile page to "add this user to your ignore list" if that's what you're getting instead of the menu.

I have another question....

I do not have a lot of people on ignore, only a few ones that were spamming my PM inbox with silly things they probably sent to most everyone else on Lit.

I do have, however, a selected list of people in my Buddy List, but frankly, I have no idea what benefits there are for having them in my list.

I think I use the regular Literotica skin (blue) and the only obvious benefit I can see is on the main forum index page; people who are in my list have a + besides their name in the who's online section. But the names are in blue and the + is in black, not very clear....

What else can I do with my buddy list?

I just like to ignore people that msg me stupid messages or look to start stupid things. Also I really hate people who have annoying avators. I dont think some people know the difference between sexy and nasty.

Question about ignored people

I've a question.

I can add poeple to the ignore list but haven't as yet felt like doing so mainly for one reason.

Can someone perhaps tell me this.

If i block someone wihout naming names call them TROLL or similar.....

Lets say someone I like for instance SweetErika, always worth a read, posts a thread and TROLL replies. Is TROLLs post visible to me as the thread was started by SweetErika? If so it's almost pointless blocking them.

Or worse still is the entire thread missing?

If someone can answer those for me i'd probably like to block a few in future.

MG, I agree with you. The buddy list doesn't seem to provide any useful purpose. If it showed someone on your buddy list was online, even if they use invisible mode, then I suppose it would, but still, it seems dumb.

MrAberdeen, if TROLLS is on ignore, then his/her posts will not be visible to you, but if they post in a thread created by someone else, you will still see the thread.

If TROLLS creates a thread, you will not be able to see the entire thread.

I've tried to keep a few on ignore, but I'm so damn nosy, I end up taking them off ignore.

Thanks

Thanks BibsGirl. I Guess now in future when I spot the dreaded troll I'll just add them to the ignore list and know I won't be missing out on someone I like reading.

Cheers.
