Is "ignore" the same as blocking?

It looks like they can still see my posts, but will they still be able to stalk/post/PM?

*kindly redirect if this is not the right forum to ask this.

Tia.

No, it means you do not see theirs.
I know, though we can still see that they've posted, just that it's hidden.

Can they still PM? It looks like they can, which just feels like it defeats the purpose of ignoring them.

Ive been told someone on your ignore list can attempt to write you, but you don't receive that message.

I did receive it though it was hidden.
Strange, isn't it?

Anyway, that's why I asked here.

Thanks.
"Ignore" means you can see that they've written something, but you can't see what it is (unless you want to). It's not the same as blocking, which I'm not sure you can do.

If you block someone they'd know it, if you Ignore them, they wouldn't have a clue.

Besides in the chat rooms, is there a way to block someone on the rest of the platform?
No idea. I only frequent the Authors' Hangout and the Feedback Forum, and story-side. I've never had a need to block anyone, although I do have a bunch of people on Ignore, which isn't quite the same thing.

There is no function to block a user in the forum software, the ignore function is about as good as it gets. If someone is being obnoxious enough to warrant a block it might be one to escalate to the mods or site owners.

Thanks for your input.
