Alien invasion. Body snatchers. This place could use more posters with the optimism shown, but I really don't believe it will last. Eight years, and this is pretty bad. So many people have left. The old regulars have found new niches, and while a few new interesting people come in, we've had nothing more than vitriol in the rest. When new posters, truly NEW posters, come by, they're run off or find themselves inundated by this strange hierarchy of creepy old men telling them to show their tits. Sure, it's a porn site and they have every right to say no, but damn it's creepy. It's become a predator's paradise.

I do think you're onto something in one respect: I think the hazing of newcomers has crossed over from reasonably good-natured teasing and has gotten too hostile. If someone comes on here and they're not using chatspeak or talking about how they're here because they're soooooo horny, I think they deserve the benefit of the doubt. Everyone was reasonably nice to me, after all.

The fact is that people who post on the GB are the only people who can change what it is or isn't. If you choose to make it what it is, then that's what it will become.

I have an attachment to the GB because I've had fun times here in the past, but to be honest - it's an itty bitty teenie section of the forum, which is a teeny part of the site. I don't stress on the GB.

That's what I've been saying since this current situation gained steam. The other forums here aren't suffering at all. There are some ex-GBers who realized they wanted 1) a moderated board that wasn't the Playground and/or 2) to be big fish in a smaller pond. And that's all that's happened.
