If your lover were a musical instrument

I know what she isn’t. She isn’t a brass horn or a symbol. She isn’t a drum. She is neither loud nor simple. She has a sound all her own. She isn’t overly complex, but still you have to know how to strum her the right way, to bring out the best in her.

Her curves fit snugly against my body. Like a rare instrument, she is beautiful on the outside, but even so, she is easy to maintain.

My love would be a guitar. In fact, I even know which type she would be. It’s called a National Style O - “a musical instrument that produces a tone unmatched by any guitar before or since”.

Only I can hear the music she plays. And her chords affect me in so many different ways. Her soothing rhythm can lull me to sleep, or her quick tempo can cause my heart and blood to race, her sweet passion song leaves my heart aching for more.

My love would be a violin, more precisely, a Stradivarius. He'd be rare, and capable of producing the most beautiful notes and tones and feelings I've ever experienced.
Edited to add:

He'd also be worthless in the hands of someone who didn't know how to get the best from him.....like I do!

Exactly what I meant when I said:

"Only I can hear the music she plays. "

A very famous spanish singer, describes his woman like a guitar.

For some reason I remembered that ... go figure.

Irish Harp.

Sweet and melodious, compact and trig, mourneful and joyous, historical.

Anelize would be a piano capable of being very soft and sutble and the next note be wild.
My husband would my favorite instrument a guitar there are so many versions he could be any. :nana:

A bassoon, of course. Subtle, gorgeous ..

In a large group, the bassoon blends in, nearly disappears. A quintet: holds the set together - and you begin to see those moments of beauty, excellence, calming .. in solo: soaring, brilliant, deep .. the sound so glorious it can't be described, but it hits your soul.

Wow.......just, wow.

My lover would be an accoustic guitar.

There is something about it.

Or maybe a lyre.

So much music to make and so little time.......

Don't know about my lover, but he sure can play me like a didgeridoo! woo hoo.

now if that isn't an obscure reference I don't know what is.

I'll see your didgerdoo and raise you an alp horn. :D

An acoustic guitar custom made for me.

My guitar nestles itself on my knee while I embrace it. I play it, creating melodies and harmonies while my gentle touch wanders up and down the shaft.

As the music becomes more passionate, I hold it tightly and apply more pressure and when we are relaxed, my touch is delicate, my embrace, gentle.

Then, when I am done playing the guitar, I gently place it where it belongs. I may dust and wax it or tune it to perfection for each song. But it requires lots of TLC.

Yes, a guitar, custom made to fit my body and soul.

a bass clarinet.

for one, he's tall, and the bass clarinet is a rather long instrument (well, longer than the normal clarinet)...

But the tone of the clarinet.. it's deep but smooth, and it has a great diversity of notes... it's a peaceful instrument, the kind that could loll you to sleep, and yet it can make you cry with the beauty of its music...

that's my sweetheart.

A man went to see a therapist about a string of 'performance anxiety' attacks he had been suffering. The therapist suggested some stress management techniques. He was told to focus on positive thoughts and imagine himself successfully engaging in a sexual act with his counterpart.
While the man thought this was weird at first, he said he would give it a try. A week later, he returned with a big smile on his face. When the doctor asked him if the treatment had worked, the man replied: "Not really. I'm still nervous before a concert, but boy, I never realized my trumpet could give such good head!"

The perfect "O".

Was within seconds from buying one a few years ago. Sat and played it in the store. A few gathered around and then a guy joined me...soon we had a band jam going on...wish I had bought the thing now...had the palm trees/beach scene. Loved it's sound. The slide I used was a bottleneck. We did some James Gang, then some Allman Brothers stuff. Had a large audience by the time we finished. Four guys messing around. Never got to the name exchange part...we sat, played, then left.
