If it was obscene amounts...pay off all the families mortgages, certain good friends would be cared for, buy a new house, an Aston Martin....then think about the rest.
I'm simple. There would be ceiling fans in every room of the house I had built.
Every appliance that used water would have it's own damn shut-off valve.
I would be able to lock out the light switches to keep the child from turning on every light in the frikkin' house every time I turn my back for three seconds.
There would be enough circuits to safely use every outlet, of which there should be enough to plug everything in without using extension cords and power strips.
I would have a car, and a truck for when I needed it. Both would be in a heated garage ( I can skip cooling them ).
There would be as many solar panels as I could ram onto the property. If the amount of money is obscene, then maybe even a windmill/turbine as well. The goal is to put more electricity into the lines than I take out, so the electric company has to pay me every month. I'll put generators on hamster wheels if I have to.
Basement + purpose built storm shelter with multiple exits. Used to love storms, but my nerves go apeshit now that I have a young one, when it gets really bad.
Back-up power and emergency generation capability when that runs out.
Floor vents for the heating. Can't live without them.
Everything as youngun'-proofed as possible with existing technology.
One room that the tornado boy can destroy on a regular basis as his playroom.
And #1
Managed care for life for my son once I'm gone. If the money is obscene, in-home managed care for life.
Of course, I'd have to buy a ticket more than once or twice a year, and remember that I had the damn thing before it went past the redemption date.
