If you read incest stories, does that mean you are a child pornographer?

I've been having a lot of conversations on the incest story I wrote recently. It was very hard for me to write due to my personal taboos. But the response to the incest stories is phenomenal.

So, if you read stories about incest does that make you a child pornographer? (Like why does it suddenly become ok because you change the age from 17 to 18? Just because it is legal, it's ok?)

Has every MAN on the planet has some fantasy about his mother, aunt, sister or some other female in his family growing up? Did you all sneak looks at them whenever you could? What is the fascination?

And the feedback I got on this story was very different from the feedback I had gotten previously... to say the least!

Do women write incest stories on a regular basis?

I have never had a fantasy about my mother, or my sister. Not even about my dad or my brother. Not my grandmother nor my grandfather. There was an aunt once with REALLY BIG tits that got me all hot and bothered once, but then she flashed that nasty toothless grin and all fantasy ended! YUCK!

So, not every man on the planet has incestuous fantasies.

To your original question, IMHO you are comparing apples and chunks of granite. People who read incest stories, MIGHT be child pornographers, but child pornographers do not necessarily read incest stories and reading an incest story certainly does not make you a child porn hound. For instance there is an incest story on this site somewhere (I saw it once) about a sixty some year old man "rediscovering" his eighty year old mother.

Not my cup of tea, but certainly not child porn.

Well just my take on life, twisted as it might be.

Ha!

Does reading incest storues make you a child pornographer? Ah...no.

A friend of mine told me the other day after discussing whether owning a copy of Photoshop made you a child pornographer that there is actually another clinical name for people who want children for sex, and a differnt name for people who want sex with teenagers. Supposedly, the one who want children have a mental illness that is not treatable.

The stories here are all about not acting on fantasies. If anything, Literotica is the best place in the world to virtually act on sexual fantasies. It's certainly the "safest sex" possible. If the sexual release is as good or almost as good here, then hopefully any people sexually "on the edge" will not act out.

Does the age make it okay? Ah...not necessarily. The damage done to some people by others through sex or other means doesn't discriminate by age. Eighteen in one culture should be sixteen in another should be 40 in another. I believe that social and family cultural influence have everything to do with how people approach and appreciate their sexual awareness.

Do women write about incest on a regular basis? Who knows? I guess we could look at the stats here at Lit and find out. It's probably the best place on the planet to find that out.

Incest was good enough for Adam and Eve and Noah so why should it be such a great crime now?

You don't hear much about incest in Bible study, but where the heck do all those religious nuts think all of humanity came from?

Well I guess it all goes to explain why I think the Bible is a poorly written book that had no one at the helm editing.

All things considered, though, I don't think women are any better than men where incest is conerned.

After all think about it, if a guy has an incestuous encounter with his sister, she is also indulging in incestuopus behaviour as well correct? Takes two to tango works well here.

Hi mlyn

Thanks for the email conversation on this with Dawn and I. One place where she and I disagree. I did five of these stories. One three or four days ago has over 30,000 views and I think more than 300 votes, another has over 40,000, and one recently went over 62,000 views with more than 600 votes. Amazing the way numbers run up but I don't think it makes one a potential abuser of the children, or especially their own. I write only for fun and diversion and except in certain instances, do not get into the characters. It concerned my fiancee because these things were coming from my mind and she knows my strong feeling against incest or in more general terms I guess, child abuse, especially child sexual abuse. But, because I have written about it and four of the five are doing pretty well, doesn't mean I'm interested although I have to admit my sister is kind of cute:D

P.S. I should delete the comment about my sister-sorry Dawn:heart:  :rose:

By the way, the Bible thing can be explained but I suspect nobody is going to care and this ain't Bible study. Good Bible studies do get into that aspect though. Starting to get into faith and belief though and there's never going to be an agreement. Either you do or don't and I doubt any minds are going to be changed.

Generally, I don't read incest stories. Yours is one of the few that I've read (I usually read all genre of work if the writing's good). I think it depends on the intent. I read the incest story for entertainment value, some other sick person may read it as a primer. But that's on their head, (no pun intended here).

Incest is weird at any age, but at least at 18, everyone's an adult and should be able to make an informed decision. The rest, I can't say anything about.

Controversial topics will always get more feedback than the regular issues, but enojy all of the feedback, even the negative ones.

Keep on writing!

Mlyn,

I think we have been here before, I'll reitterate society only legislates against things people do. Therefore the universiality of the incest taboo suggests that it is a universal impulse.

In literary terms incest and the universal incest taboo give a story a fantastic structure - one of the key ingredients of the incest story is the moral dilema and its resolution. Like the horror story genre we are invited to play in the realms of the unthinkable - to enter into the ultimate universal sin. Think Marlowe's Doctor Faustus rather than Romeo and Juliet.

Incest or at least the desire is a fact of life. In this age of efficient conception maybe it is fine between consenting adults - but that is the key part adult and consent.
