I won't pretend for one single second that I don't love having my ego stroked and flattered--I could lap up compliments and generous votes until...well, I was going to extend that metaphor to some ridiculous length using lots of tongue imagery, but I'll let it go.

Much as I adore kind praise, though, I appreciate constructive criticism, too. Perhaps it's not so sustaining to the ego, but certainly helpful in learning to write a bit better!!
