I have never availed myself of the services of an escort but if I did I would want to enjoy my time, and that means that the person I am with is also participating in the pleasure of the moment, both in sex and otherwise.

I would not think that a "pro" would be relaxed enough to "enjoy" as they are at "work" with a total stranger. While many of can come at our desks in our offices, not many can come while at an executive meeting at the office of a new client (you can take it as a challange to find out the numbers).

Anyway, good sex is not always about coming by either partner, great sex is; something not always found.

A "whore" is generally unpaid. A "prostitute" always has sex and doesn't date. An "escort" is paid and provides companionship and if mutually agreed upon, sex.

(I'm betting I'm not the only one here who use the terms that way, either.) Hence my confusion with an escort poll which only has sex as options - none of them are for "companionship" only. The reason sex wasn't mentioned as an option (and this is my guess) is that with an escort, there's an implied relationship that's similar to a real date. SLG's question was an attempt to explore how real that dynamic really is when it comes to that ultimate act: making love / sex.

In my book, it's not much different sexwise than visiting a prostitute: She's there for my pleasure because I'm paying and she's providing a service, it's not a mutual loving relationship that requires reciprocity.

Actually, I've known a couple of executive women who hired escorts to be their dates for the obligatory formal annual office holiday party, where they're expected to bring "a guest" but led lives where there wasn't a male companion/friend/lover/husband/whatever that they could bring. I don't know if there was anything physical between them after the parties, but knowing those two women, I doubt it. I think it was more just to have someone pretty on their arms to accompany them.

And do not tell me about girlfriends because you pay in different ways, ie dinner, movie, gifts, etc... Prostitutes are cheaper in the long run and you always get what you pay for.
