See all that?

The WORKERS built that. Not the Government or the Corporations... the WORKERS.

Happy Labor Day!

If I go outside and walk down to the corner and look west, I can see a piece of the skyline that I helped build myself.

Happy Labor Day!

If I go outside I see a beautiful sand beach and the ocean. That was given to us!

Happy Labor Day.

And don't forget to thank the citizens and immigrants who picked our fruits and vegetables for us, too. Their labor is keeping most of us fed.

Between 1989 and 1992, 3,627 Australians lost their lives in work related accidents. This equates to nearly 16 per cent of all deaths during this time period. Of the 3,627 people killed, 2,389 were fatally injured while working or commuting. People aged between 25 and 34 years were over-represented. The majority of deaths occurred during the day, with mid-morning and mid-afternoon peaks. The bulk of the people killed were men (around 90 per cent), whose death rates were - on average - 10 times higher than those recorded for women across all categories. The only exception was the category, ‘commuting’; a man is two and a half times more likely than a woman to die while travelling to or from work.
Workplace deaths are even more tragic in that they are ultimately preventable. Most occur because employers cut corners on workplace safety. 40% more workers (per 1000 workers) die in Right to Work states - that is, where unions do not dominate.

Women represent 10% of all workplace deaths, while men represent 90%. But encouraging more women to take dangerous jobs doesn’t solve the problem. People will still die. Only the gender of the dead body changes. The CEO and the top bosses still get away with cutting corners and making a killing off the hard work of their employees - you know, THE ONES WHO ACTUALLY BUILT THAT.

This Labor Day, pledge to focus more on workplace safety. Make a plan to pressure your Congressional representative to rigidly enforce the workplace safety laws we have on the books now.

Find Your Representative. Make the call.

Blue collar workers are fungible goods. Bunch of ants. You need investors, designers, and management to get things done.

Not really. The world was running long before we had investors around, at the very least. Plus the workers can turn on you and tear all your shit down.

Not really. There really wasn't a before investors and sure the workers can turn but they'd fuck themselves in the process more often than not.

Really, so the world didn't exist before the 18th century? That's when investors first appeared. And there are successful employee-owned businesses running today, so you're wrong about that, too.

Before the 18th Century? Please tell me how exactly Columbus funded his 1492 expidition to America happened.

I'd love a list of large employee owned businesses by the by.

For the record I'm not really trying to argue with you here. You get the same offer that Bot got. I'm tired of having so many foes. I won't ask you to join the herd or anything but still.

My point at this precise moment is I fail to see how say the pyramids were built by Pharrohs were at the time Religion, Government and Big Business all rolled into a single entity really qualify as NOT investors. I mean you don't want to call them investors because it shatters your point but what were they if not investors.

Against people who aren't you I'd have less room to stand but you're the same person who pointed out that libertarianism and fuedalism have very few differences and I don't think you're wrong on that. I just think that the same logic applies to Queen Isabella funding Columbus. They might have had different words for it in the past but it was the same.
