… for every socialism success story, I wouldn't have a dollar.

And if there was a socialism success story, I still wouldn't have a dollar.

1. Almost every communist country developed highly successful education systems.
2. The Red Army won WW2 with minor help on the periphery.
3. The UK National health Service delivers a comprehensive high grade service at about 55% of the cost of private systems.

However all socialist governments eventually stuff their economies.

Annnd...almost thirty minutes later, I'm giving you a pity bump.

You okay tonight, guy? A lil' off yer game. Been striking out a fair bit with the desperation cards in play, ey!

:D

It's all good, Zumi, that wasn't original material.

I'm working on a Thanksgiving thread where the Pilgrims landed and the lobsters were lined up ready to jump into boiling water next to pots of warm melted butter. Could you check that for historical accuracy for me?

If you did get a dollar you would receive 1 cent after the leaders got their cut.

These old bullshit threads. How many are there about socialism being a failure?
I mean it kinda mostly is but also isn't. While the majority of people here and really on the internet in general have this fairy tale notion of it and would surely be crying for capitalism after a year or two of true socialism, the naysayers also cherry pick stories, ignore large aspects of the argument, back up their argument with bullshit stats and stories and in general are asshats.
Mostly what I'm saying is you're all asshats. Douchenozzles, too but come on, I think that goes without saying.

I do like that meme of the hipster bitching about capitalism with his ipad at Starbucks. Good stuff cuz true. Once in a while you guys get one right.

Minor help??? MINOR???

Oh, I dunno. Lots of Scandavavians are benefiting from social democracy.

You snorks need to accept there is a difference between Socialism with a capital S, and socialism with a lower case “s”.

Or at least accept the fact you aren’t arguing against socialism, just taxes.

It's both. I don't feel I should be forced to pay for health insurance if I don't want it, nor should I be forced to pay for someone else's health insurance when they can't be bothered to take care of themselves.

What health socialism is saying is I'm responsible for everyone's health care costs, yet I'm not allowed to take action to keep those costs low such as telling a restaurant an obese person is only allowed a salad with chicken rather than an entire pizza.

The Scandanavians shit canned Socialism decades ago. I guess you didn't get the memo.

You can’t tell a smoker not to smoke either.

But to really make rational arguments for/against this position, we’d need an actuary to explain the true risk/cost, rather than basing it on my opinions about the importance of a universal health net vs. your opinions about irresponsible people.

Why are you so deliberately obtuse? Or does your reading comprehension suck that much bulldick?

Respond to what I actually said, and I’ll reply in kind.

Not really; they're still Commies compared to the USA.

Like us with our Social Security, there were certain programs that were politically untouchable, they were stuck with them. They have reduced the payouts on those that they couldn't get rid of altogether.

Tying into the other thread, demographics is biting them in the ass as well.

Do you think Scandinavia is a country?

If it weren't for some form of socialism, most of you old, cranky, bigot rightist assholes would have been covered in maggots a long time ago.

Go sit down somewhere, wannabe fail troll.

They're the furniture country.

And Socialism fucked them up so much they can’t even assemble the furniture they sell and make their better educated, healthier capitalistic customers assemble it themselves. Pinko bastards.
