How could she be un-funny? She didn't build her long-running and successful career on the mere novelty of a lesbian standup comic and talk-show host.
And she certainly deserves the MoF more than the intellectually dishonest RW Paul Johnson did.

When she was doing stand-up comedy, she was not known to be lesbian. She came out only after she got a TV series.
There you are, and by then she was already so famous the news made national magazine covers. And she didn't get to that point by being un-funny.

More to the point, she's uplifting and upbeat and isn't even evangelical or otherwise preachy. Just what we need at the moment.

No. It's not that. It's just that it bothers me when someone wins an honor that they don't really deserve. I think it diminishes the honor, like the Nobel Peace Prize.

It's just a medal, Rammy. A piece of metal with a cloth ribbon to hang it with. She'll put it up on her mantle or hang it above her desk.
It's not going to personally hurt you, change your life or affect your eventual fate. In fact, I guarantee you'll forget about it in a week when you're at the supermarket figuring out which microwaveable dinner to buy.

Drone strikes under Bush were war crimes, under Obama they are a life-saving mission.
You can ount on the situational morality of the press taking the same bent during the incoming administrations tenure. Suddenly, every stray fragment the nicks a civilian will, once again, be pure evil personified. We'll start seeing the dead and wounded again.

Lots of celebs do charity fundraising. There's nothing immoral at all about it, nothing sleazy or dishonest or even anything less than admirable. They're just capitalizing on their fame to get people to donate to charity.
Well, at least for the past 8 years the USG has not been quite the raging monster of destruction that it was under W. Obama's Peace Prize was really an award to the American people, just for rejecting the Pubs and neocons, and we deserved it just for that, too. You can be sure the Donald and his voters will never get one and never deserve one.
