If it makes any difference it's a concealed zip on a velvet evening dress... perhaps a muted zzzzip...

I think whisper, especially since it's a hidden zipper in velvet. I have a hard time thinking about the sound because velvet is such a tactile fabric. I'd be more interested in how it felt.

Damn! Great description. Something tactile like that seems to be more attention-grabbing and erotic than just hearing it. I say use all your senses when writing; it puts the reader right there.

If a zipper falls in the forest (when another person is near?) the sound depends on POV, but the next sound should be sucking.

It was Megan's dress being removed and her wonderful full breasts falling into view. The problem was that it wasn't "her" view. She quickly back tracked to find her to would be lovers....
