The ugly truth is nothing meaningful will ever be done on gun control as long as 2 things remain unchanged.

1)Acts of Islamic Terrorism, as long they continue to wage war on the US , people will want access to guns. See record gun sales years 2008 through 2016.

2)The progressives (democrats) willingness to lie, exploit any event to further their ultimate goal of a total gun ban (which Hillary has expressed in her Australian model comment back in Oct).

You don't see any Dem politicians telling their protection to give up their guns do you? It's a progressive wet dream.

The Republicans haven't pulled anything like this. Fillibustering EVERY SINGLE THING is not the same as a sit in for a single well defined issue.

It's disgusting either way, more so for Democrats who are supposed to know better.

It was awesome when Rand Paul did it because he's awesome. I'll accept that I'm a hypocrit to when it means supporting people who are actually doing work. Even if said work is reciting Green Eggs and Ham from memory.

Democrat control of congress was blocked on even the most mundane of things, and oh yeah they were working tirelessly on Health Care Reform and flawed as it may be they actually got it done. So that's what they were doing.

Yet not a peep from Obama, Clinton or Democrats (who control that city from top to bottom) on addressing that very specific situation. You'd think Obama would care about his home town to fly up there and personally get involved but you'd be wrong.

No outcry or sit for the lives lost in Chicago every weekend.

The only time Democrats make an issue out of shootings is when they can try and use it as fodder on a national stage. For the D's it's about restricting gun ownership any way they can.
