Idiot Hildabeast says Trump is a recruiter for more people to become terrorists

That's because you weren't reading International News, only your own biased version. Gitmo and Extraordinary Rendition were a disgrace to the US and a real embarrassment to the US's Allies.

The use of symbols of Gitmo was only a symptom of the hatred generated against the US and its allies by wars of regime change, and those predate President Obama.

But you didn't want to know.

Gitmo made it much more difficult for other democratic governments to support the US with military action.

Yeah, Gitmo is why the towers went down...

Gitmo is why the incessant attacks on Israel.

Yeah, Gitmo was the prefect recruiting tool for hatred.

Next you will be lecturing us on how rendition makes the moderates not like us.

HELLO! The moderates don't like us for a variety of reasons, most of it our licentious, hedonistic and godless culture, not to mention our history of success and growth.

It's called envy. You can't point to one Irish Pennant on a tuxedo and say that's the reason it's still on the rack instead of pointing out that it is blue, covered in sequins, laced with lavender trim and a super-plus size...

Furthermore, I believe that if the argument is that one source of news is biased towards a political perspective, it does not preclude the other news from being biased towards a political perspective.

Osama did not bomb us because of Gitmo, he did it because we put boots into the Holy Land to defend it from Saddam, the tyrant everyone seems to love now, because only his ouster destabilized the region of hate, which is dominated by the religion of PEACE!

Could you give us a few factual examples of that?

Two just for a start: The vote in the UK's parliament not to go to war in Syria; and the difficulty faced by our intelligence services when there has been any contact by British Intelligence staff with people who were subject to Extraordinary Rendition or sent to Gitmo. There are on-going enquiries to the UK Intelligence Services role in US actions.

It is and has been a real problem for British Governments and public opinion is now against any support of US military operations. That wasn't the situation before Extraordinary Rendition, Gitmo and Abu Gharib.

UK politicians know that unquestioning support of the US military is now unpopular with electors.

The UK believes in the rule of law. Habeus Corpus is a feature of British and US law, and was broken by Extraordinary Rendition and Gitmo. The UK electors seem to believe that anyone taken to Gitmo should have been charged with a crime under normal US law, given the legal protection any US citizen charged with a crime should get, and if there is no charge, should be released. Holding people in poor conditions, abusing them, and not giving them any reason for their detention, nor any prospect of a fair trial - is illegal under US and UK law.

Gitmo stank in the noses of law-abiding people, even among US's Allies. The UK's government had been pressing the US administration for years to release any people held in Gitmo who had British citizenship.

While we recognise that some of the Gitmo prisoners were a threat, and some who have been returned to the UK are continually monitored, ER and Gitmo were politically disastrous ways to deal with the problem.
