Ideas for Illustrated Stories

It's strange that while the Illustrated Story section is one of the smallest catagories in Lit, the two I've done are the most popular stories (in terms of page views) in my entire library.

Granted, it is really hard to do both a good story and create some great artwork to go with it. But, at the moment, now that I'm drawing again, I'd like to take another stab at the genre.

Ideally, I think the illustrations should be of something that cannot be replicated by simply inserting a photo (which many Illustrated Stories actually do, but I'll leave aside that issue for now). This was part of my thinking in doing my Bride Of Sacrifice story, where I had the main female character assaulted by a tentacle beast, hentai-style. In that line, I've given thought to doing something with many-armed Shiva, but I don't know a whole bunch about Indian mythology, and I might be better off doing something from Greek mythology.

There's another potential line for Illustrated Stories that kind of tie into erotic fan fiction. Having recently come across Hise's 'Dark Legend Of Zelda', it's tempting to try and do something with already existing video game or animation characters.

The thing is, generally, I'm still just mucking about with some rough character design sketches and not really sure at all what I should do for a proper story yet. I figure it couldn't hurt to see what other might want to see or read from the Illustrated Stories section that hasn't been done yet (or has been done, but could be worth re-visiting in a different style).

I'm currently working an illustrated story that I hope will be a top rated story for the week. I'm going to use a combination of photographs and hopefully great story telling but honestly those are kind of hit and miss. I mean it seems like the stories that are highest ranked in my stuff are the ones that are trash.

Interesting....never seen any of the mags...but i i have a couple of friends who enjoy the mags....one of our freinds was in the marines and spent a lot of time over seas. i like the fact that there are no rules, the only limits would be that from the writier

I think I've nailed it down. I've started to rough out a few sketches that I'm happy with, and I think the core idea is both interesting and challenging.

The story is to be called 'The Whore Of Minos', a fantasy based on the Greek myth of the minotaur, in which a slovenly woman takes the place of her chaste sister as the sacrificial victim (knowing full well that the reason young fresh women are typically chosen has nothing to do with the fact that the minotaur wants to eat them...)

I'm usually not that taken with the oversized-gentials theme sometimes seen in hentai, but in this case, I was struck by a couple of 3D rendered images at MonstersAndAngels that I thought were really well done and quite inspiring to this story idea. I thought it would be interesting too to see what kind of woman would be willing to take on and tame an animal like that in the realm of sexual congress (I'd already done the helpless-victim thing in Bride Of Sacrifice, so I didn't want to go down that path again).
