Ideas on how to improve reader views/engagement?

Hey all,

After a long time away, I decided that I wanted to continue a series that I started 11 years ago. 2 new stories in the series were posted this past month and I am in middle of writing the last part of the story now. I was wondering how my fellow authors increase their reader engagement and views?

I would love to see my stories read and commented on more.

Any ideas would be appreciated! Any feedback on the stories would also be appreciated!

Here are the links to the stories:

Reader interaction and engagement are not strengths of the Literotica experience, because comments are so few and far between. But there are some things you can do:

1. Participate actively in the Author's Hangout, be positive and encouraging, and encourage other authors to make comments.

2. Add a comment at the end of your story that you want comments and voting.

3. Respond to comments that you receive in an appreciative way.

4. Enable anonymous comments.

5. Have a Twitter page where you promote your stories and encourage feedback.

All really good advice. Thank you.

I've also found writing in a new genre does help. For example, you post a story in erotic couplings. People that usually read that category might discover your other stories if they like the new one that you posted. I hope that helps.

I understand why you want engagement, that's the only way you get better as a writer. When I started the story I'm working on right now, I got decent engagement off the bat, which dropped off as time went on. Some of the comments I received were really excellent, and I re-tooled how the story went from the original concept based on that feedback. It's utterly invaluable and I'd love more of it.

In the end, I think you get what you put into it. I feel like with the feedback I've received thus far, I've plateaued. I'll probably write my next story as part of a different genre, so that I get exposed to different kinds of readers. I'm also going to start hanging out on the author forums more often and see if that helps.

Best of luck!

This is actually my favorite part of the site although I am uncomfortable about promoting my own stuff. I LOVE reading about how others who are more experienced have handled barding issues.
