Because the comment section of stories require moderation, which I understand, it prevents conversation. A solution could be adding a forum for writer profiles, allowing people to interact more quickly with us. Individual writer sub-forums could be linked from the bio page or from individual stories if desired.

Thoughts?

Story feedback is nowhere near enough. I have found it useless in fact. I've literally gotten three letters of feedback, mostly useless insults. And I've left feedback letters and never gotten a response. I think the dynamic nature of the forums could fix this problem.

It's not outside of literotica, I'm pretty sure links to the lit forum are acceptable?

Which forum are we allowed to create writer-specific topics? I mean, I know I can do that, but none of the forums seem appropriate for "Hey, here's a topic just about me". Or is there?

Nahh, this is just another attempt to manipulate feedback so that writers can control/delete any criticism of their stories and they can pretend to be awesome.

You can totally have a conversation in the story comments. Many writers do.

I appreciate the utter lack of good faith from you. It's important that we judge people immediately without any attempt to get to know them or understand their perspective. Assuming the worst in others is the way to build a positive community here. As a relatively new author here, I now feel very safe to express my opinions and to ask questions. Keep up the good work!

The problem would be, you need to create an account to use the forum. You'd eliminate anonymous comments, which (as we discussed in another thread) is something Literotica doesn't want to do.

Why do people keep telling me what I would do? That's a serious question. You are the second person to accuse me of this. Why? Is it my icon? My name? What is it about me that suggests cowardice or unethical behavior? I want to know so I can fix it. Thanks.

I think Annie meant "you" in the general sense of, we as a collective would miss out on anonymous story comments if we pushed interactions into spaces that required accounts.

She wasn't saying that you personally would delete all the anonymous comments 😁

Okay, that's a fair interpretation. On the other hand, nothing about my suggestion implied somehow eliminating the existing comment sections. At the same time, I have the option to block anonymous comments on my stories (which I don't do). Sooooo...a little bit of inconsistency there.

That's the way I read it, too, Penny.

MythicMind, keep writing and building your fanbase and DMs may come. I don't receive a lot of them (3 on my Halloween story, about 2.5 more than average!) but it's nice when I do and they sometimes focus on points not generally covered in review Comments. You might also consider adding a signature with a link to your story, stories, or story listing (you can include up to four links) so fellow AH'ers and any visitors can check out your works (and possibly leave a review comment or send a DM).
