How much I missed having music as a regular thing in my life.

I was playing around with iTunes on my new computer. I didn't before because I can't afford to download songs from their store and in spite of having a Mac I worry about viruses et al from free sites.

However it turns out iTunes has access to hundreds of on-line radio sites. :D I've been sampling them and it's a lot of fun.

Currently I'm listening to Radio Paradise which has the sort of eclectic mix I really like.

So, what sort of radio stations do you listen to? If they're on line post a link so the rest of us can enjoy it.

XM satellite's Liquid Metal channel. It's online, but I don't know the link, and I think you might have to have an XM account to listen to it anyway.

Isn't it great to get back into the groove of enjoying music and re-discovering things you haven't heard in a while? I just splurged and got Rhapsody a few months ago. I don't really listen to the radio stations on it, but I make my own playlists and listen to them. I've found I'm willing to try out music I would've never bought in a million years. I'm flighty when it comes to my tastes, so it's perfect for me. I can go from Matisyahu to Christmas music in about five minutes.

My BF loves that one. I'm more of an Ethel person myself.

Limewire is a good download site, Rob. I'vehad it for months, and no issues whatsoever- just don't download the wma files because they're mostly crap.

It's not really radio, but I've heard Pandora is a good internet tool for giving you new music to listen to (again, I don't have a link, I'm being lazy, and I don't use it anyway).

Please

Don't use Limewire.

Shareware like that has a lot of Malware hiding around and it opens your computer up to viruses and parasites, especially if you have DSL/Cable. You may not get infected now or weeks from now, but you'll eventually get a "hitchhiker". This is from someone who knows from experience the hard way, aka someone whose computer used Limewire and even though a reputably solid antivirus program protected it, it still got 167 viruses via a Malware parasite.

However, help is free if ever you do get a case of the nastiesCheck-out the "Viruses, Trojans, Spyware etc & All Other Computer Help!" forum and just see the history of the individual's having problems with Limewire.

Fascinating. Is there still radio? I don't think I've listened to an actual radio station in three years. I get fed so much music via other media.

Tuned into Radio Paradise again.

And blast from the past. Conquistador (live with the Edmonton Symphony Orhestra) by Procol Harum. It's probably been a decade since the last time I heard it, nearly forty since the first time.

Sigh. Nice to have music back.

Unless I am roaming the streets, I don't listen to radio stations. For reasons of virus/malware, I don't listen to Internet music sites.

I do listen to my own music collection on a day by day basis. I collect 50s, 60s, 70s music. I get a "blast from the past" almost every day. Oh yeah!
