Iconic SoCal strip club The Wild Goose to close

The Wild Goose, an LAX area landmark for nearly 50 years, is set to close its doors for the last time on Christmas Eve this year, to make way for luxury condominiums. The Goose is one of the dying breed of old school topless clubs. It was more than a strip club; it served a full menu of reasonably priced food with daily specials, and was popular with generations of workers in the area who would stop for lunch or a cold one after work.

Its sad that the last remnants of the old days of strip clubs are disappearing more and more. This place may have become a bit of a dump over the years, but it had more atmosphere than 99% of today's strip clubs put together.

I think we can figure out your life pretty well by your threads: you infrequently or never have female companionship, go to a lot of strip clubs instead, and think very poorly of women in general.

You're that creepy guy strippers always complain about. Some of them make bank, so I'm not gonna cry for them - but I still feel bad that they have to deal with shitstains like you all the time. They should at least be able to entertain without feeling queasy.

Seems like the bad economy has really hurt the strip club industry. While fully nude places with high mileage lap dances are hurting, the topless bars seem to be especially hard hit. Lots seem to be closing. Of course, bars in general are in decline, maybe partially due to people no longer driving home after drinking. That's a good thing of course, drunk driving is bad but socially I find it sad. When I was a kid there were bars on almost every corner everywhere (talking abour regular bars now, not just "titty bars"). You just don't see them the way you used to. In the neighborhood I grew up in, there's one bar left while there were three or four back in the day. The same thing everywhere. Clubs are still popular with young people, but the neighborhood bar is on its way out.
