I Write Like...

I got David Foster Wallace, too. I don't know who he is, and I don't think any of us who got him write anything alike. So I'm forced to conclude that he's the person they say you write like when you don't fit in any of the other categories, since nobody knows who he is in the first place.

Most of the posts that we all do are typical bulletin board fodder. There's little overall style, just conversational english. I would guess (being too lazy to look it up) that Foster's style is similarly neutral.

When I entered a post where I was actively telling a story, I got Charles Dickens.

I can't fucking stand Dickens.

Heresy!

Actually, I think I'm the only person on the face of the planet who likes Dickens.

I got David Wallace Foster, so I looked him up. I think it's the relatively large number of "I's" in the entry, coupled with a rich vocabulary and cultural references, that matches with him - typical of many posts here, eh?

(And, by the way Bunny, I love Dickens too.)

Dickens is a hard limit.

I like some of his stories, I just hate his writing.

I posted some writing I had laying around and got Stephen King. I don't mind writing like a best selling author... now if only I could figure out how to BE one.

An erotic story received Rudyard Kipling, a roleplay got Chuck Palahniuk, and..

A story in which I'd attempted to do a totally anti-Meyer scenario returned Stephenie Meyer.
I think it's time I retired from writing; that's horrible.

Stephen King, Cory Doctrow, David Foster Wallace, or Dan Brown, depending on what C&P of the same story I entered. If David Foster Wallace is the default, I guess I need to correct those sections.

Yay! I'm not alone in the world. :p

I put some of my MSc in and got david foster wallace. who the fuck is he anyway?
