I want to write

I usually start by getting a set of ideas down on paper, and then linking them together into a rough storyboard. There will be a couple of rounds of tweaking, if only to make sure the story flows. Then each of the ideas becomes like a metaphorical chapter in my writing, as I pad them out. At this time I'm not so worried about precise accuracy and continuity. It is more about going from idea to story. The rest comes in several rounds of editing where I start to consider how the story flows and whether the reader will find it both realistic and appealing.

It's just like when you had to write stories at school only, you don't get told off for writing a sex scene or two.

First, I start with creating a main character, perhaps a shy virgin or a middle-aged slapper. Then, I created a few support characters that'll encourage them in the right direction.

Everyone has sex, so what makes this occasion more interesting? Is it with someone they shouldn't be? Are they looking to experience something new? Are they being coerced into it?

Finally, your main character has a jolly good game of hide the sausage. Site rules state they have to enjoy it, so chuck in an orgasm to keep it legal.

I want to write a story, but I don't know were to start. Please help me out.

How much do you read? Not just here, but elsewhere (non-smut). Reading helps a lot, to see how established writers lay out their stories.

Seek out online writing communities, again, not just here but in the non-smut world. As far as this site is concerned, there are threads here in the forum where Literotica writers share their tips.

Here is an good thread for self editing: https://forum.literotica.com/threads/self-editing-for-authors.1634588/

Then there is this section in the main page: https://www.literotica.com/resources/writer-resources

And then there is this "How-to" section here: https://www.literotica.com/c/adult-how-to

For the last link, there are quite a variety of articles in there, some on writing, others about other things.

Did I just give you a bunch of homework? YES. :) Sorry about that, but there is a lot to learn about crafting a story. Some of the knowledge you will need to absorb simply revolves around how to write a story, any story. Then, learning to write erotica so it's interesting to potential readers is another thing to absorb.

I was in a big hurry to get my first story out and it showed. It has a bunch of technical errors and word choices I wish now I hadn't made. I finally re-edited it and its been submitted for upload. No telling when it will finally be added as edits to stories are low on the priority list.

I hope that helps you without giving you too much to consider. Personally, I think it's worth putting in the work. No one is going to pop out a brilliant piece of literature on their first attempt. It takes practice and the ability/willingness to learn from others successes and mistakes.

Dirk

PS - Don't rely on Artificial Intelligence!!! At best, its a short cut, and no one will respect you for it. But more likely, it will be crap. The site here has rules against AI and won't post your story if they even think it might be AI crafted.
