I'm one of those writers who gets inspired and runs with it, writing till the muse is done with me. My muse seems to have flown the coup though, and I've got no inspiration at all. I haven't written much at all in weeks. But I really want to write. So...what do you do when you want to write but can't seem to get the creative juices flowing?

SJ

I go to the Story ideas forum. I make myself write one to spec for someone.

I just keeping plugging away at some long project. Eventually the flow of the story will seduce me into inspiration and take me in some direction I never planned...

I challenge you to write a 3-day weekend story in which the girl becomes a guy for Friday & Saturday, and the guy becomes a girl for Saturday & Sunday.

So, Friday it'll be M/M, Saturday M/F (but each opposite their normal gender), and Sunday F/F.

On your mark, get set, ... COME!

Okay, until you threw out that whole "juices flowing" comment, I was right with you. What was the topic again?

Lol! An interesting challenge. Not sure if I'm up to it the way you put it, but that does give me a few intriguing ideas. :D

I have ideas galore... but I just can't seem to get them from my head to the page... sigh. RL issues keep getting in the way.

I go to my novel or a long half-finished story and start working through some character exercises, like the ones Imp posted in the Writer's thread.

My God. Where the hell did you pull that idea from? It's genius!

I write outlines for future stories when I get like that.

It's creating... with none of the hassles of editing.

Sincerely,
ElSol

What Writer's thread? I missed a thread!!

If my muse decides to run away I don't bother to give chase. Instead I start on some other project. A sketch perphaps, some type of art and often I get inspired from that.
But my real problem is finding time to write *sigh*.

Writer's Advice or something, started by Dr M. It was only a day or so ago.

Just look around SJ.

What scares you? Ghosts, cars, trains, apartments, cats, relations?

What intrigues you? Sandals, beaches, a woodland walk, another person's fantasy?

What would you look twice at? A window display, another woman, The Earl, the view from a train?

What do you think you could get away with? Flashing a neighbour, picking up someone in a bar?

What do you enjoy doing to yourself? Tell us!

A few suggestions. :D

Definitely a good place to start! (and yes, I'd look twice at The Earl :)) I'll have to think on your questions and see if I can come up with anything.

I don't think what I enjoy doing to myself would be very fun reading, but we'll see. ;)

I think we'll be the judge of that! Dare you! :p

Go browse the toy store. It always gives me ideas. :D

:( We don't have a toy store!! Have to do all of that online, which can be fun, but isn't quite the same.

SJ slipped her sandals off and lay back on the settee.

Where did I put it, she wondered, her brow furrowing with concentration.

She smiled, her face lighting up as a wicked thought crossed her mind.

Kendo-

Not what I was expecting to come of your dare (and I'm sure not what you were expecting either), but when I started thinking about what I like to do to masturbate, I thought of phone sex with my Dom, which inspired this: (keep in mind everyone, this is a first draft)

undressed, sprawled
across the bed,
legs wide-held
by imaginary bindings,
I am yours.

the pinch of pain
as clothespin closes
on nipple, you ask
for another, a smile
in your voice as you hear
quick breath
I am yours.

fingers caressing, teasing
through the slick wet,
ready now, wanting-
dildo fucking, fucking
faster, harder
gasping, moaning
I am yours.

But hey at least, I'm writing a little!

Very nice SJ, i'm not a poetry editor, but i'd say that has potential!

I have loads of ideas, but i need feedback, be it positive or negative, to keep me going, which is why i NEED AN EDITOR, lol.

Good luck with your writersblock hun, hope you get those juices flowing freely soon.

Hugs!!!

Thanks! I have a great editor, but I've got nothing for him to edit.
