I want to find my muse

I haven't written anything since the Valentine's Day contest. I've been looking at the artist's thread and wanted to draw something.

I can't seem to manage anything within writing or drawing right now. Where did my muse go? :(

Got a few stories that I haven't finished, but now I've started to want to write a Romance story. Just need a muse to help me out. grrrr.

Mine goes on extended holidays. Except of course, when I have no time to write. Then the bastard comes back with a vengeance.

It'll come. Try entering some of the Voice competitions or something to try and kick-start yourself with something small and insignificant before you try thrashing through a big project sans muse.

Eep! I suppose it's time to do another one, isn't it?!

LP - If you find the place where lost muses go, please let me know. My muse has gone missing, too. ;) Luck to you!

Was that a volunteering for moderatrix I just heard?

My muse seems to have wandered off as well.

I suspect they might all be frolicking at their annual Muse festival in the Greek islands. Perhaps if we were to make an offering of milk and honey, or sacrifice a virgin, we might lure them back.

Where in the hell do you propose to find a virgin willing to sacrifice (as opposed to getting laid) in this crowd?

Perhaps we could ask one of the patrons of the Saucy Burka Cafe. We might have to bribe them with the blood of an infidel, but I think there's lots of those around here.

They're all over here! Pestering me when I need to work.

Take them back!

I think mine must be there as well......she just laughs at me every time I open a file to start working on it......I can hear her quite clearly.

*sigh*

Oh thank god. I thought I was the only one that could hear her laughing... Does she mock you? She does me. Bitch. :D

All the time. Loudly.
And to add insult to injury, I'm SURE she idles her day away on MY bed, behind me while I'm trying to write.

Did YOU sacrifice a virgin to get them over there???
No, all the sacrifices were newbies with over 35 posts.

No, that was a quiet squeak of terror. Every time I try to think of a topic, my mind goes blank. Anyone want to take over? Theme suggestions anyone?

The annoying thing is that I think my muse is playing hide and seek with me. I keep feeling that a burst of inspiration is around the corner, but I haven't managed to catch it yet!

Broader topics seem to be easier. Considering the time of year, something easy like "vacation" or some such? (easy for me to say, I ain't writing....:D)

That's the worst! That's when I flat out know she's laughing.

Okay, try this. Go back and find something you've already written, something that you made a coice somewhere which could have gone one of two different ways. This time, take it in the other direction. Try going back a few paragraphs before the choice occured and re-write, word for word, if necessary but any way you choose, from there, making the story take another direction. Might create anew story out of an old one, also might get the juices flowing enough that you can spill some over onto something else.

Never actually tried this, but in Finding Forrester... ;)

Have you tried slamming your head in the car door a couple of times? That always works for me . . . I think. I can't remember. Who am I again? Wh-where am I?

Bloody hell.

Okay, how about the theme being 'Something that is broken'. I haven't time to run it myself, but I have inspiration coming out of my ears atm (probably due to the 'no time' factor)

That's a good one, min! Wanna run the challenge? :D I'll be your female lackey, eh? I could fan you with palm fronds or something.

Oh, this is a good idea, too! So many places you could go with theme both literally and metaphorically…

Thank you! Just to warn you guys, I may blatantly steal one these ideas. *evil laughter*

Sorry, LP69

I've submitted three stories since the three I entered for the Earth Day contest.

I have eleven muses and a substitutes bench so I am rarely short of one. My trouble is too many of them and Terpsichore will keep persuading the others to do a Can-Can.
