as for you, sweetestlove, the only thing i can advise is for you to find out about any gay and lesbian events and activities your community is hosting. it's a good way to meet new friends, and sometimes make a good connection or two. if you live in a decent sized city, sometimes they have gay hotspots (a good club or bar). bring an open minded friend, hang out, (if you're legal) get a drink, dance and unwind... you shouldn't have a problem meeting someone after that.
