what does it take to host your own reality tv show? do i have to like get 2982982 views/hits on youtube or something? lol... cuz money isn't the problem if that's the case. i just really wanna know, how an what to do. i've been really interested for the longest. i'ma reality tv show person who loves watching them.. an i think personally, i would bring ratings. so yeah, this is probly my longest post ever lol... sue me -

The premise of reality TV is that ordinary (but nonetheless interesting) people will react to various "unscripted" situations in ways that are dramatic, romantic, comedic, ruthless, unethical or titillating and in so doing command your attention from week to week.

The fly-on-the-wall camera crew captures these precious moments of spontaneity and editors weave them into a compelling narrative.

But various participants have cast doubt on the degree of authenticity of the "as-it-occurs" implication. It would seem that one's success in the RTV genre is dependent on the director's ability to provide direction so subtle as to be imperceptible. It's the non-pornographic equivalent of two people fucking and convincing the viewer that he or she is the third person in the room and not a camera operator, sound man and god knows who else.

In a world where "shit happens," the RTV producer and director have to guarantee that it does and that it is damn well entertaining. Otherwise all they'll have is video that looks like those Kodak Instamatic photos that your Aunt took at Easter where you were standing stiff as a board squinting into the sun.
