Ok, last week I had a thread here on this board about female combatants. Then we had a discussion on the Amazons in it and ancient women warriors of antiquity and whether they existed or not….

I told you all that I vaguely remembered something about hearing them finding some evidence of a female gladiator in Britain, but I said I wasn’t sure (although I did admit that I had a good track record when it comes to remembering these sort of things)....

Bullshit, I pointed out it was narrow-minded skeptics like you who also through the city of Troy was just a myth as well. Then I (and other here) gave you an abundant amount of example of real life female warriors in Asia Minor at the time that was the inspiration of the Amazons. You are the idiots here that are only remembering what you choose to remember. So go back and read the thread and keep you're mouth shut until you do.

Did you even read the thread that this originated in, Loba? I have no reason to disprove that the Amazons existed. There is no proof that they existed in the first place. In Greek myth they were a society that the Greeks battled with, along with giants and centaurs. Shall I now struggle to disprove that ferocious half-man, half-horse rapists existed too?

Sure, there might have been a similar society (highly unlikely, but possible). My problem is that Frimost used them as a point in his argument as if they were a real, fully documented civilization, not just some mythical sidenote.

Frimost is always on a different wavelength...from the rest of the world I think.

All to prove a point. Our popular P.C. culture has an erroneous view where women are idealized and that if they were in power they could do no wrong. Those examples were to show men and women were not all that different after all. When given license to act without consequences and without judgment gender makes little difference. When given absolute power or close to it as they were women will abuse it just as easily as men both politically and sexually.

Now, I didn't say that men would be chosen solely for beauty in a matriarchal society, that was todd (I think). However, I also thought it was brash to so easily ignore the theory and brush it off so easily as well.

I don't know what a matriarchal society would truly be like, that is why I asked the question. I DO know what it would NOT be though. Given the circumstances I suspect that not an incredibly whole lot would change given the opportunity if they (women) ruled us. It would probably be a case of “the more things change, the more they stay the same” and “meet the old boss, same as the old boss”
