I think some of these women at the Kentucky Derby have ridiculously stupid looking hats.

you'll need more in bangkok!

Well...I just got back last night from a 2 week stay in Bangkok...I was there getting prepared for my move...Getting the new home ready etc...

I really am not a heat loving lady... so it will be tough on that spectrum...and I am fair, so I will definitely have to watch out for sunburn...

Honestly, Until I venture out of the city specific, and get to more of the beaches and things in Thailand, I cannot actually say it is a " beautiful" or "scenic" city...

It is like NYC to me...the traffic is just too much...and the noise...wow the noise!...

It will be such a huge change on so many levels, but a beautiful life experience I feel...everything is what we make of it, and I intend on getting out there and finding the blessings...

And I will be close to India, so will LOVE that...as I have a home there and also spend a great deal of time there ...so now It will be like 3 hours away...love that!...

try northern thailand, too. i like chiang mai. the train up there takes 12 hours - give or take, mostly give. air asia have frequent flights out of don mueong. do not go to pattaya, honestly, it's shit. the beaches are worth a visit, although ko samui, etc, are full of farang. how are you getting over the visa problem? are you on ed visa or something?

if you get the chance, head south and go across to langkawi, malaysia.

chang yai, 44 baht from 7-Eleven: click

Cute pic... ( smile )...

Now THAT is a huge bottle of beer for 44 Baht...:D

I finally got the Baht currency down...

It cracked me up seeing so many 7-Elevens in Bangkok...One every corner, and almost always next to a Boots Pharmacy... LOL...

I am still quite dumbfounded that you can walk in to any Boots Pharmacy and pick up heavy duty pain killers, antibiotics and or prescription strength Diuretics etc without a prescription!!!!!!!!...wow...makes me kind of wonder though how all that is regulated...and are they safe?...all this is so new for me...

44 baht is about 1 pound sterling, but i worked on a conversion to US dollars elsewhere in se asia. shhhhh, about the pharmacopeia, don't spoil it! ;) the valium is pretty good for long bus journeys, although your luggage will probably get stolen!

oh, i forgot, get the train to nong khai - sleeper - and get a tuk-tuk to the laotian border. vientiane is half an hour from there.
