For example, many believe 666 was given as the number of the beast, which originated from the name of Nero Caesar. There are many different forms of Gematria that date back to ancient times. Another example is why those of the Jewish faith consider 18 a lucky number. It comes from the word Chai, whiich means life. The 2 letters of that word add up to 18. I don't know if this answers what you were looking for. But it's late, I'm tired, and I don't want to start rambling.
