In the "STATE OF THE UNION" address, Bush called the "Troop Surge" a short-term thing that would last only a few months. Later he said give it three months to see if it works.

Two weeks ago, Dick Chaney said give it "a few months" to see it if works.

On Friday, General Petreaus said it will become clear that it works or not "by the end of summer" That's more like 6 months over about three weeks.

Obviously, "Give it a chance" is rapidly becoming "Stay the Course"

I would also like to point out that three divisions of Iraqi troops were promised to aid the surge troops. Only ONE showed up and it was a Kerd division. Last week an Air Force fighter bombed the Kerds. Now they are talking about pulling out their ONE division. The leadership in this war is totally fucked up.

Cheney is the only one talking more time though? I see a few months (which is three to five months as far as I'm concerned), three months, three months, by summer time (which is five months away, still in the "few" category). I really don't see anything wrong there.

I don't like the plan so much, but I don't see anything wrong with the presentation of it.
