Tonight when I left the office, was going to go home. The road I work off of was barracaded off by Police and the like. The Olympic Flame was supposed to pass my office around 4:30 or so today, but it was "running" behind.

So since traffic was stopped and I wasn't going anywhere due to said traffic. I stood out on the sidewalk and watched the motorcade in front of the Flame and then the Flame came passed and then the motorcade after it.

Pretty cool thing to see, if even it is "for looks" anyways.......just the same I saw the Torch get passed right in front of my office...and then off to downtown it went.

Pretty cool, pretty cool.

Are any of you going to see the Flame when/if it comes near your work or home? Just curious.

Missed the flame in Atlanta, but I'm going to be seriously jealous if you got to see Michael Waltrip carrying it. I don't know what time he was running with it, but I know it was today.

Well mg5 it wasn't Michael Waltrip. It was on it's way to downtown Charlotte and it was Larry Sprinkle (local weather caster dude) and I must say it was quite cool to see.

Sorry you missed it. What an entourage with it.

I won't get to see it.

Chuckus, that's just awesome!

Thanks unregistered. It is cool to see something like that. Not too many times that people see stuff like that.

Sorry you didn't get to see it.

Somehow I think this Olympic will be different and more meaningful in so many ways we never imagined.

I think you are dead right. This Olympics will be different than in past years. I think there will be a lot of Symbolism (more than usual) and I think that something very special and unique has the potential of happening. (What that is, I have no idea but HEY it sounds good!!!!!)

Maybe this will be one for the ages.......maybe people will come together like never before............maybe we can open a new era for Earth and for Mankind...........who knows.........

Hey dont get carried away there Chuckus Master Man

:p

Too cool Chuckus!

I'll be sure to watch it when it passes through my town.

Tell me, did you get all mushy inside? Did you have to pretend you had dust in your eye to wipe away the tears? Did you have to bite your lip to keep it from trembling?

I'm not mocking you Chuckus, I just think it's sexy when a man tries to hide his emotional side.

.........whoooooooo slow down boy.

A lil patriotism goes a long way.......

alot of patriotism gets in the way.

It was merely a gesture that maybe something in someway will brighten the world we live in, today as it stands.

Maybe for just a few days or hours, there can be peace and goodwill towards all mankind.

now if you want a rant about patriotism..............:D

No chanaud, I didn't get all teary eyed and wipe "dust" from my eyes, though it did make me feel in awe.......that I got to see something that alot of people don't get to see is all. In fact, I felt quite proud and honored, the truth be told.

So if you think it's sexy when a man hides his emotional side, does it work you up when you can see it right in front of you?

It's all good. All good then...............

...........I do both!!! You gotta know when to hold em know when to show em and know when to walk away..............(old Kenny Rogers song btw)

Did that, 2000, it went past my local aths track... wasnt particularily special but I thought I might as well see it.

Moi? Noooooooooo you got me pegged wrong...........;)

Saw the flame years ago

Saw the Olympic flame pass right outside my favorite bar's window the year of the Atlanta Olympics. It was exciting, and a complete surprise since I didn't have any advance warning.

Here's hoping things go more smoothly for these Olympic games.

For all you north Florida people.....

The torch will be passing through our area tomorrow. Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Orlando. I plan on hopefully making my way out to see it sometime during the day. I think it will be especially meaningful, since tomorrow is Pearl Harbor day (and my birthday!).
