So I’m the guy who awkwardly smiled and said hello at the grocery story, or was it the coffee shop? You get the picture. You saw me and it felt good knowing that I found you an attractive woman just by how I carried myself. You may have even giggled a little bit thinking about how I looked like a teddy bear and that you might be open to talking to a sweet guy for something different, something fun to shake things up.
I’ll admit your smile and those eyes held me spellbound. I was trying to find something…anything to give cause for conversation. To show you that a married guy in his late forties, with a dad bod could actually have some personality. Something to offer to a new friend interested in conversation with a nod to a possible connection. Yet my offline introverted nature left me searching for the words while you walked away, leaving me with only the faint smell of your perfume.
I was hoping our paths would cross again, never did I expect it would be here on Lit where as luck would have it. Here I’m much more comfortable, always respectful and gifted with gab along with a good ear for listening. You seem like an ordinary woman who has responsibilities of her own who just wants to talk with an ordinary guy.
So how about we pull up a seat and spend some time breaking the ice and see about common interests and “chatability”? I’m very much up for friends before fun, hoping for someone long term. I think making a true friend is possible here don’t you?
