I really miss Zoloft...

An Ode to Zoloft....

Seratonin in a pill
It makes me write so pretty,
But when I run out as I will
I feel more's the pity...

Neurotransmitters then lag
And in less than a full session
I begin to feel more the nag
Under a cloud of my depression.

Until who should so fast arrive
Holding my hopes aloft
One who makes life seem more alive
My dear friend, my Zoloft!

Ruby, I understand! :) Never could such a little orange pill have made so many so happy without even mentioning Viagra...

Hang in there!

Cheers!

SpiceCake, do I have to write An Ode to Paxil now?

cheers!

That was funny, Fox. Did you just pen that on the fly?

LOL!! I thought Zoloft was a Litster who wasn't around anymore. Ah yes, drugs. Cheaper than airfare.:)

LOL - I've never heard that before.

I'm so glad I'm not the only serotonin junkie here. :)

Here we go....

Depression is a stalwart foe
Without warning it may strike
Of many remedies I know
But only one of these I like.

An S R I it may be called,
It keeps me feeling chipper
It is also known as Paxil
A serotonin re-uptake inhib'tor!

I tried the zoloft, but no dice
There was something that did lack
So the doc rethought and said, "Let's try
"An offshoot of Prozac."

So he prescribed and I went off
To my local pharmacy.
I handed over the written scrip
And then he gave to me

The greatest shock I'd e'er received
It made me want to choke
For although I was to be happy,
The drug cost left me broke!

A happy ending I assure
For those reading my fare
Because although I am now broke,
With Paxil, I.... don't... care!

Okay, not really an ode, but how many things rhyme with Paxil? lol

Cheers!

:p

I have a friend who told me Zoloft killed her sex drive.

Wellbutrin, however, kicked on her afterburners.

I could go for a seratonin buzz right tonight. And most every night, for that matter.

Did you ever have any sexual side effects from Zoloft

I noticed a bit of a waning of desire for a bit, but after a while it was almost like my body was used to it. Nothing permanent, much to the appreciation of my wife!

Cheers!

Thanks. After a few years, though, I guess it's not kicking back in. *sigh* (btw, I'm the one lacking the appreciation.)

When I was on zoloft, I was singing this tune: I really miss my orgasms. :p

(Hugging Ruby)

St John's Wort 30
What is it?

The St. John's Wort ("wort" means "plant" in old English) is an abundant perennial with bright yellow flowers that produce an oily red pigment when crushed. It is one of the most popular herbs sold in Europe today. Our own St John's wort is grown in tranquil, natural New Zealand, away from harmful toxins and pollution that can be found in other parts of the world.

Clinical studies have shown that St. John's Wort may enhance mood and promote a healthy sense of well being.* this extract is standardized to contain 0.3% hypericin(the active ingredient) which is the amount shown to be effective in studies.

What does it do?

St Johns Wort works by elevating the levels of natural hormones, in particular serotonin. This can help to raise peoples mood and dispels feelings of gloom. This is of particular benefit in our modern-day lifestyle which often leads to additional physical and emotional stresses.

How do i take it?

Adults take 1 capsule two to three times daily or as professionally advised.

Caution:

When taking prescribed medicines (especially other anti-depressants) check with your health care professional as St. Johns Wort may affect the way some work.

I sure don't miss it, but I never took it really, I guess. One day, however, I snorted some and even tried smoking some, and all me and my buddy wanted to do was take baseball bats to cars, and that we did. No more zoloft for me :D
