Back in the 90s, 311 really bugged me...but I'm listening to the 90s channel on Spinner right now, and they play 311 songs every so often and they sound good! The new 311 song is rockin also.

Anyone else have a change of heart like that, where you suddenly realize a band you previously thought sucked is actually not so bad?

cocteau twins...used to think they were shite but dig them now...

milli vanilli...liked them when they first came out, hated them when i found out they were fakin', dig them again just because their music is good for a laugh
"bah, bah, bah, baby...don't forget my number"

Right the first time

I'm a very discerning individual, so my answer would have to be NO! :p

I liked 311 before. I got drunk one night before I went away to college in 96 and played "Down" about 7 times in a row before I was no longer allowed near the CD player.

311?
Who are these people? They sound familiar.

Something about people thinking they supported the KKK?

Areosmith. I used to lump them in with every other electoric guitar screeching crap band in the world. But they're damn good.

And although I've always hated Metal for being brainless pot bashing, I've come to appreciate anthems like Aqualung.

And I've recently started taking Eminemm more seriously. And there was a day when I realized Public Enemy was putting out some provacatively good material.

Usually, it's the other way around. I will think a band or a song is great, then relaize what a dope I've been for 20 years. Just look at my 45 and LP collection of music I thought was great: "Tell me Something Good" by Rufus, "The Night the Lights Went out in Georgia", "Seasons in the Sun", albums by Styx and The Irish Rovers.

There's a LOT of today's music I love, though I rarely buy it. Bare Naked Ladies and Blues Traveler are pretty good.

But I'm pretty sure the Backstreet Boys sucked yesterday, sucked today, and will most likely continue sucking until the day they all have heartaches at 65 during their "Backstreet Boys Kickin' It Again!" reunion tour.

....I've always enjoyed their sister band Areolasmith

Gawd...to think I used to regard you as a reasonable person....

I always hated The Rolling Stones for some reason. I could stand to listen to the song Paint It Black as many times as a sane person should, and I did. Then I found this double album from them called Hot Rocks and I have to say that it really turned me onto them. Radiohead also. I used to listen to that song called Creep over and over but never made much of an attempt to grab one of their albums. Years later Ok Computer came out and all the critics said it sounded like Pink Floyd too much. I happen to love Pink Floyd so I bought it. It wasn't Pink Floyd but it made me a fan for life.

If you want a band that sounds like 311 but better...Check out Finger Eleven.

I always hated Wu Tang Clan, until they brought out their album The W. Now they kick ass!

I thought I would like finger eleveen after I saw one of their video's but I couldn't get into them. Nobody really sounds lik 311 in my opinion. Especially during their Music days.

 sorry about that last post. what the hell was that huh ;)

LOL @ Laci.

Ya, I bought both cd's of Finger Eleven after I heard one of their songs on the internet some where. Right now they are on my list of my favorite bands of all time. I just love their music. Have you heard alot of their songs Laci or just one or two?

Well after seeing that video that gets semi good airplay on t.v. I decided that this music is for me. I went and downloaded a few songs of theirs off the net and none of them seemed to do it for me like the one I heard on t.v. I'm a picky person anyway. Most of my cd's that I love the most are about five to ten years old. Nobody does it better then those who take their music seriously. :D

If you like 311 check out a band called Sprung Monkey. Laurel should know of this band.
