Since I owe a fellow Lit member a few recipes I promised to send to him, I thought I'd type them here for all of you. My favorite cookies:

Crunchy Chocolate Chip Cookies

3 1/2 C flour
3 t baking soda
1 t salt
1 C butter
1 C packed brown sugar (I use dark brown sugar)
1 C sugar
1 egg
1 T milk
2 t vanilla extract
1 C vegetable oil
1 1/2 C Rice Krispies
1 1/2 C quick oats
1 12 oz package Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

In large bowl, beat butter, sugars, egg, milk and vanilla.

Stir in flour mixture alternately with oil. Add cereal, oats and chocolate chips mixing by hand.

Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheets. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, or until done.

Makes 8 to 9 dozen cookies.

Veggie Pizza

2 (8 oz) cans refrigerated Pillsbury crescent dinner rolls
2 (8 oz) packages of soft cream cheese (I use low fat)
1 C sour cream
dill weed until you can really see the green, 1 or 2 teaspoons
1 t beau monde seasoning
8 oz cheddar cheese (I use more)
Chopped veggies- I like broccoli and carrots

Spread the crescent rolls on 2 cookie sheets. Flatten to look like a rectangular pizza crust. Back according to package directions (about 10 minutes at 350 degrees.) Cool.

Mix cream cheese, sour cream, dill weed and beau monde together. Spread on cooled crusts.

Top with chopped veggies. The smaller the chopped pieces the better.

Sprinkle cheese over the veggies. Press lightly into the cream cheese mixture to help hold toppings in place. Refrigerate.

Cut into small pieces to serve.

COOKIES!!!!!

yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum
(burp) pardon me. LOL:eek:

hehe... they ARE good cookies. I don't even like plain chocolate chip anymore because they can't compare to these. The veggie pizza is usually a popular item, too, and it is very easy to make. Especially if there is anyone you want to choke at the time. Chopping those veggies by hand does wonders for stress levels.

Hmmm... mine flatten a bit more than that. Did you use teaspoon size or bigger? I'm guessing bigger.

But the key question- how do they taste? :)

Siren...you are silly.

Cheyenne...the cookies didnt go on with a teaspoon, the mix was a bit too dry for that so i kinda measures out a heaping teaspoon and rolled them into a ball and placed them on the cookie sheet.
they are crunchy to eat. they taste very good. thankyou for the recipe.

yum yum yum :D

You're welcome!

Crunchy- yup! That's what I like about 'em.

Fruitcake recipe

HOLIDAY FRUIT CAKE

1-cup water
1-cup sugar
4 large eggs
2 cups dried fruit
1-teaspoon baking soda
1-teaspoon salt
1-cup brown sugar
Lemon juice
Nuts
1-gallon whiskey

Simple Directions

1. Sample the whiskey to check for quality. Take a large bowl.
2, Check the whiskey again to be sure it is of the highest quality. Pour one level cup and drink. Repeat.
3. Turn on the electric mixer; beat 1-cup butter in a large, fluffy bowl. Add 1-teaspoon sugar and beat again.
4. Make sure the whiskey is still OK. Cry another tup.
Turn off mixer.
Break 2 legs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of dried fruit.
Mix on the turner. If the fried druit gets stuck in the beaterers, pry it loose with a drewscriver.
5. Sample the whiskey to check for tonsisticaty. Next, sift 2 cups of salt. Or something. Who cares?
6. Whisk the checkey. Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts. Add one table. Spoon. Of sugar or something. Whatever you can find.
7. Grease the oven. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees.
Don't forget to beat off the turner.
8. Throw the bowl out of the window. Check the whiskey again.
9. Go to bed. Who in the hell likes fruitcake anyway?
