It may, because "Husband and Wife" doesn't apply to all marriages anymore. They could modify it to include husband and husband, wife and wife I suppose.

Spouse is the appropriate legal term anyway.

..."family" is their target, and by the time your kid is ready for school, even a private option will be gone, the better to confine every citizen of the State to equal duty.

Ultimately, though, it's the complete elimination of God from the State which is the current crop of statists' goal, as he's the Creator and endower of individual liberty, and thus has been the statists' primary target since their daddy Lucifer fell...
