I bathed a kitten!!!! And trimmed her nails!

A friend had to come and help me. Never having done it before, I needed help. And I am so glad she helped me because I suspect I would have gone about it all wrong.

Now- my kitten is clean clean clean. Her fur is softer and she even seemed to enjoy the bathing at times.

She did not like the manicure. Well, she needed one. I got a lot of scratches on my arms and legs! hehehehe

heh :)

Getting her in the habit of trimming her nails is a good thing. I have to take my cat to the vet to be clipped, she tries to kill me when I do it.

And here everyone was thinking this was going to be something exciting (see the ammount of people who have viewed this thread compared to the people who have replied lol)
:)

Okay now that you've bathed a kitten, you want to help me grab the abandoned cat next door and clean him up? I'm dreading the thought of bathing him since he's been so neglected and he's a mess. I think I'll have to find some work gloves to do the job.

That is so sweet.

He's a pretty cat, long haired with orange patches. We've been feeding him outside for quite some time now. I can't take him in because he's a tomcat and has already gotten in by accident and sprayed a chair. I can't take him to the vet in the shape he's in right now so he's got to be scrubbed and have his fur trimmed a bit. My own demon just loves that cat...they raise hell together. Typical men ;)

Brushing him a few times before bathing him will help some.
Althought I've never tried this, one of my friends used to put her cat in a pillowcase and fasten it around his neck to bath him. She swore it worked and kept him from ripping her to shreds.

Good Luck!

Couldn't help but share this story...

of me being a young dumb ass. We used to have this Cocker Spaniel and while taking a shower I called for my wife to bring her to me and I would bath her. Well, it worked like a charm. I was in a small enclosed shower with a glass door, used the flea shampoo..rinsed the dog. Like I said, this worked great!!!! So, I had another brainstorm, "Bring me the Cat!" and she did.

Goddamn, when the water hit that animal it was like being locked in a closet with a fucking wild cat! The cat went nuts, clawing its way up my naked, water soaked, supple body (read: balls!). It was all I could do to keep it off me. I had to grab it around the neck..hold it at arms length and try and cut the water off as the bottom of the shower turns pink with my blood like a scene from Psycho.

We don't have cats now.

They get used to the nail clipping after a while, you shouldn't get scratched. Make sure you talk to her while doing it - keep her calm. Also there is a trick in holding them - try and cuddle her on her back in one arm (and on your la) while you clip.

Some cats do an excellent job of cleaning themselves and don't need to be bathed - or maybe rarely.

Trimming their claws is pretty necessary for indoor cats if you value your furnature. Outdoor cats I don't believe need to have their claws trimmed - and do need them for climbing and for defense.

All cats enjoy a good strip show.

Southern37: My parents had trouble bathing their schnauser and they have a walk-in shower so I suggested they try just bringing him in there. Works like a charm. But that part about the cat nearly made me spray coffee at the screen.

I never knew about bathing the cat. But Amelia is a kitten. As my friend told me- kittens are used to having their mom's do some of their grooming for them so naturally they are going to be a little dirtier than full grown cats. She advised me to try giving her a bath once a week so that she would get used to it, but that when she grows up, it would be necessary to do it so much and the cat won't freak out.

You really can tell the difference with the her fur.

I don't want to have the kitten de-clawed. So I will trim her nails.

BTW Riff - that fucking AV of yours... that has to be the hottest ass I've ever seen in my life. I so want to do her!

Thank Busty The Clown. I told her the same thing when she was using it.

LOL

Pagancowgirl: You are not a bad kitty mamma. But my kitty is strictly an inside cat and I am raising her to be a lady-slut.

Not a cowgirl-slut. :)

LMAO... k Riff, that makes more sense.

The easiest (and only!) way I've found there is to trim my kitty's claws takes two people.

I lie him down on his back across my lap and have my roommate rub his belly while I trim his nails. My kitty seems to love the attention and hardly even notices anything else going on. :D

rose- I agree.

I'll try bathing her on my own next time, but the claw trimming will take two.

If you shave your pussy, you won't get all that hair on your tongue next time you bathe her. :)

We are working on it. I don't mind a furry pussy though, in fact, some times I dig them.

But as for my kitten- I don't think she would like that.

LOL! That has got to be the most amusing thing i have heard all week. :D

I have indoor only cats, so I don't bathe them more than once a year. It is *SO* worth it to pay someone to do it for me, even though I'm broke!

That and I love their baleful glares when they come home all sparkly clean! *grins*
