After playing with my bike for the past month I am getting to the point where I have decided that I just plain need to design and make my own bike.

I know what I want. Hell it's simple really. Too bad the bike companies haven't made one.

A simple bike really. No bells and whistles. A V-Twin Engine to balance it out. Twinned yet seperate Carbs. (It's simple enough to link the throttles.) No battery, make it a kick start.

Yes I'm talking a bike that is so simple almost anyone can work on it.

Give it an engine that is roughly 900cc's. That's big enough for two people and a few things yet small enough to be econimical.

Give it a low rider frame so even us altitude challenged can ride it, and give the front a nice rake so it's stable.

Imagine it. A bike that is made with todays techniques. A bike that is stable and reliable. A bike that is easy to work on and economical.

Oh wait a minute, I forget where I live. People wouldn't like it because it doesn't have the bells and whistles.

Get someone to bend the tubing and find me a tig welder, I'll get that frame done quick :D

There is a simple basic bike that is economical, reasonably fast - fast enough to break US speed limits - easy to service and available new.

It is the Royal Enfield from India.

I think "I need to make I my own" is grammatically correct.

The HarlSea Catson... I can see it now customised in an electric blue frame.

A golf course here has one :D
Probably had a head mechanic that made them buy it a few years ago

I swear, my husband owns every damn tool/tool-type machine known to man. It's why we have not one, but TWO garage-sized sheds in the backyard.

It's almost better to get bosses to buy the stuff :D
Except when you leave and have to start over

eh, his have been collected over the past fifteen years or so. They have shop tools he can check out, but they're never as good, or as well maintained, as the ones he has. Plus, the shop will pay for them upfront, and if they're over some dollar amount, you can pay them back a bit at a time - that's how he's accumulated the more expensive things.
